This is a great place to visit. The water is so blue. Have good sturdy shoes on!
I took the wife and kids out there to check it out during the end of winter. While the weather was cool the water felt warm to the touch and very clear! It was beautiful indeed. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because the well is not as big as I thought. Some of the pictures I had seen were a bit misleading. Not to say it wasn’t worth going out there. I do plan on taking the scuba diving trip down there when they begin offering it.
It's beautiful and quaint here. The water is crystal clear and cold. There's not a lot of water to swim in besides jumping into the mouth of the well but you can sit in the water and cool off. There's two different paths you can take to get to the water. One path has a lot of stairs and rocks to climb on while the other path is man-made and would be more user-friendly for older people or people with disabilities. They have done a lot of work here to keep this place looking nice. There are a couple swings up by the air-conditioned bathrooms. There are two ways to enter the different parking lots. GPS might send you to the parking lot they normally have gated off. If you zoom in on GPS you can find the road that will take you around to the other side no problem.
This is a great place to visit. It's a short hike through a meadow and forest down to the creek. Very peaceful in the spring. I'd imagine during the summer it's busier. If you're coming to swim, come already in your swimsuit. There's not many places to change. If you have tender feet, wear water socks.
For such a famous place, there is very, very little to see. We drove from Houston to see Jacob's Well and I have to admit that the drive was a lot more fun than the actual well. There is a little hike when you get there but it's a easy 10 min trail walk. The parking lot is small so don't come during peak hours. The well is located in a small Creek. The well is literally the size of a kiddy pool in the creek. The rocks by the creek are glass slick and if it wasn't for the cool colors in the well, I would have been pissed. Good place to go to say you have seen it, but you won't want to go back.
The water is super cold especially for very little ones hard for them to enjoy I have a 2 and 4yr old. but for adults great.
My favorite place to go in Texas. Big Bend Park would be second place. Jumping into deep whole is very scary and fun. Overcoming fears is challenging. Difficult to book, difficult to find the road following maps guide, quite a walk after parking - all you need to keep a great place unrevealed for crowds.
Awesome way to cool off 30 minutes from Austin. Make sure to make reservations online prior. 2 hours $9 a person. Well worth the money! 2 hours was perfect.
Just a neat place in general. Water is 68 degrees. Jacobs well itself is approximately 17x20 but the walk to it was beautiful and the water in the river is clear. We did not make reservations but were the 2nd ones there. Employee sits at top and very nice. It crowds rather quick. A couple of hours is all it takes. Bird watching is also at same park just before entering trail for Jacob's Well. Port a potties available.
Awesome place, clean ice cold clear water.
Make reservations before arriving. Being a towel and swimwear to jump right in.
Words cannot describe the beauty of this place. The water is always perfect abs it's so unique and beautiful. It's definitely something to put on your bucket list.
Beautiful park. Absolutely worth a visit. It is a small walk to get to the well but once you are there it is amazing. If you want to swim you have to buy tickets online prior to going. They do not sell tickets on site hence the 3 star review.
Very relaxing. Make reservations in advance, my wife and I were there with about ten other people, mostly in their twenties. It was a ten minuite walk from the dirt parking lot. The water was crystal clear and clean. The well itself was cool, a twenty foot deep hole in the stream bed. The water was chilly, if you can, go on a hot day.
