I love this place. The service has always been excellent and it's got a cool atmosphere with all the vintage motor cycles on display. I come to DC about twice a year and this is always a place I must visit. In fact, it's my favorite place to hang out. Cheers!
Great Happy Hour! Where else in downtown DC can you get craft beers for $5 for 5 hours on a Saturday? Incredible selection too! Don’t miss this place.
Surprisingly full and reasonably priced draft beer selection for a bar so close to the arena. Pretty good atmosphere and reasonable amount of space. Happy hour runs until 8 so it is a great place to grab a couple of drinks before you get fleeced at Caps/Wizards game or concert.
This place will be crowded before an event at the arena and they do NOT have food. What they do have is a great selection of local craft brews and pretty okay prices. Fun late night hangout with shuffleboard and skeeball.
Recently went here because of BSidesDC and was pleasantly surprised by how cute the place was! There's a really nice place under the staircase that's lovely to hang around with a group of friends. Ginger beer on tap was nice too.
They hosted our conference BSidesDC after party. Variety of drinks and Beer available was excellent. Could have used a few more places to sit but the service was great. BTW to my pleasant surprise when I went to the restroom. It was remarkably clean. Friend says the women's room was the same. Bonus
Iron Horse is def a nice addition to the Gallery Place/ Penn Quarter, especially considering its close proximity to Verizon Center.
Nice selection of rotating drafts (though sometimes I still yearn for a little more variety). Good place to spend an hour or two before a Caps game, or for a low-key ending to a night. They don't have food so don't come hungry. Kind of a nice grungy feel to Iron Horse is a welcome change to all the super pretentious bars in this area.
Reasonable prices too, especially for quality beer on draft (a lot better than paying $6 for a bud light bottle elsewhere), I think they have a happy hour until like 7pm. I'm a fan!
Excellent dive bar with large selection craft beer. Good happy hour specials 4-7pm. Bring your own food. Downstairs good for groups, playing games. Upstairs is usually quiet enough during week to carry a conversation (as long as there isn't a big game or concert at Verizon Center up the street).
Great place to have a nice craft beer. Music was a bit to loud sometimes. Lots of different craft beers on draft. Great place for a stop.
The place is nice and I liked the beer selection. Around 7 bucks for the cheap beers. They have a basement section with games and arcade, a lot of space but crowded. I do not know if this happens often but the day I was there it was packed with hockey fans which made it kinda uncomfortable.
Fun place for a a drink and shoot a game of shuffleboard. Good jukebox and craft beer is enough to keep everyone entertained. Place is incredibly loud and is very dark inside so pick a corner or table and don't stray too far cause you may not find your way back in the mob that forms downstairs.
Love this place - and they recently got food (on Friday-Sunday)!
On the food - it is a local caterer contracting to bars without kitchens. I ordered his pork tacos and they were pretty great (ask for the veggie toppings on this - beans/corn).
On the bar - it's nice and open and even on a crowded night (Friday and Saturday usually) it still seems fairly open. Skeeball is always fun and the bartenders are all great.
Cathy (Miss Vietnam) was AWESOME! We are from out of town (west coast-Reno, NV) and she was very welcoming! Told us about places we should visit in the area. This was our second time here (2 days in a row) after passing through by accident the first time. We noticed their awesome 4-8pm happy hour. $2 off drafts, which was a nice addition after walking around the museums all day. The decor downstairs is awesome with the old Honda bikes. Nice surprise!
