One of the best Cesar salads I've ever had, almost a wedge and with goat cheese. Location is convenient to the White House and Mall, none of my party had anything but raves for their food as well.

Such a wonderful little restaurant. I had breakfast on Sunday on my way to work. The Apple pancakes were to die for. And the best chocolate mousse I've ever had. Magnafique!!

I've been coming to central since 2012. It has steadily declined since then. Food has remained consistent (as in it never changes) decor has not changed a bit, and the service has deteriorated dramatically. In 2012 you would walk in and see this place packed, a lively ambiance and always a wait. 2017, dead, rude staff (although the fried chicken is amazing). Now about the rude staff the Yugoslavian waiter, extremely rude and condescending. Rushed us out of there even though the place was empty and rudely corrected my pronunciation of "Central". Sorry dude!!! As a frequent diner, I stopped coming here because of the servicean more so because of that one waiter. I will not be returning..only takeout for the fried chicken.

We went after the matinee at the National Theatre and sat at the bar. The bartender was delightful. We had the pre-fixe dinner - appetizer, entree and dessert for $38. I had the goat cheese Ceasar, the signature fried chicken, and the chocolate bar for dessert. Everything was delicious and I can't wait to go back.

If you want rude service and overpriced, mediocre food in a really loud coffee-shop environment, Central is the place to go. Otherwise, there are much better dining options in D.C.

Always enjoy the outstanding service and delicious food. Bonus for restaurant week was a three course meal at a reasonable price. I ate the hamburger with cheddar cheese. My daughter got the fried chicken. Enjoyed them. Lava cake with a surprise of rice krispies cereal on top added crunch and was good.

Came by for lunch. They had plenty of seating for walk ins. The decor is quite dated in here, but it was once a nice spot. The service was excellent. They had a set menu lunch, which was smaller portions. They were still massive. Tried the famous fried chicken, and it was just so-so. The potatoes were very good. French onion was decent too.

Best restaurant in DC.
I recommended restaurants in Washington DC.
Above all, food is excellent. The composition and balance of the material are excellent, and especially the visual part and the taste part are appropriately mixed. The atmosphere is casual, but it is not light because of the people who use it. It is strongly recommended in Lonely Planet. This is the best restaurant I have ever been! The service is great,food is awesome. Like their way cook the salmon and steak. Even the sides are perfect. The dessert is tasty and different.

I ate here for lunch during Restaurant Week. It was a wonderful 3 course meal for $22.
The progression of the meal was smooth- I started with the creamy Burrata dish, then had the crispy and perfectly cooked fried chicken on top of velvety smooth mashed potatoes. I especially liked the white sauce that came with the chicken- cut through the richness of the entree. Ended the meal on a high note with a moist and enjoyable carrot cake.
The service was quick, seating can be tight in spots and you have to speak with a raised voice at times but overall I am glad to have given this place a try especially at such a reasonable price.response / report this review -

Love the fried chicken! Central Michel Richard is always a great place to go have a nice different meal. French cuisine for the people. We brought family and friends to Central to have them experience the Fried Chicken. The salad for the appetizer was just a mouth watering experience, even though it was just baby spinach, but the dressing was just amazing. The french onion soup was also very authentic, thought it was filling As usual most of us ordered the Fried Chicken and had a delightful meal. I ordered the salmon to get something different. It was decent, but I think I would definitely rather have had the fried chicken. We have had cocktails here and they are always done up well. It is sad that Michel Richard is no longer with us, but his culinary finesse will live on with the other chefs he has worked with.
