I now understand why Marriott calls these hotels the autograph collection! Everything isn't just nice, but perfectly suited to its local. It looks and feels exactly as a Michigan lake side resort should. It's a masterpiece. The staff are all exceptional. Beyond anything is the food. Much to my surprise the restaurant in the hotel was specular! Dinner there was one of the better meals of my lifetime. We had the charcuterie board and lamb lollipops as appetizers, and I had the roasted chicken with Brussels sprout hash and marinated asparagus as my entree. It was all so good that describing it without being able to immediately consume it again will cause me physical pain. Our server the restaurant (Vintage Chophouse) went out of his way to ensure our evening was perfect. Yes everything here is expensive, but it is all worth it.
Great location. From top to bottom the Inn at Bay Harbor excelled. The staff was excellent at every level. Courteous, they were ready to help or accommodate your need or request. The restaurants we're gourmet quality. My wife and I highly recommend the Inn at Bay Harbor.
Absolutely beautiful. Perfect for a nice weekend trip. The grounds, the water, and the location are perfect. My husband and I always try to stay here when we want a romantic getaway.
Location was beautiful, one side facing the beach and the water and the other faced the garden and the colored cliffside. It was quiet and felt very private. Rooms were gorgeously decorated and furnished, and provided a comfortable, but luxurious, at-home setting. We were there for a family wedding and service was awesome. Concierge were happy and friendly, and the catering were quick and on top of their job the whole time. Food was fantastic, drinks were great- and strong!
Great architecture, ambiance and and views of Lake Michigan. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Had one of the best Eggs Benny's ever at the dining room one morning. Would love to visit again
Very nice place to stay. The grounds are very nicely done. The rooms were very clean. The staff was very friendly.
Had such a wonderful time at this resort with my family. All of the staff helped make my uncles wedding made it a very special day. Calvin one of the waiters and Tamara one of the bar tenders made sure we were taken care of all evening going into the night and made sure we were 100% satisfied with everything. Calvin made sure I got boxes to give my mom for the wedding cake because we had our little 2 year old brother running around most of the time so she had to go back to the room with her and I definitely appreciated Calvin's extra generous help!! I would strongly recommend this beautiful resort/location to anyone looking to get a way and enjoy a peaceful time. So many friendly faces, people and scenery I wish I could go back. Thank you again Inn at Bay Harbor!! -Zach
It's a beautiful setting, but that's about it. There's definitely room for improvement. The views are spectacular, and there's plenty of space, but most of the buildings need refurbishment. Also, there is no actual beachfront for Lake Michigan - what's available is extremely rocky. The restaurant service is extremely slow. We had to wait 10 minutes just to be greeted, another 40 minutes for our food, and it tasted so-so at best. It is nice that they let you use their bikes, kayaks, and paddle boards but there's several places around here to rent on your own. If you're looking for a true "Up North Michigan" experience, keep looking. If you want to spend a lot of money for a beautiful view and nothing more, this is your place.
Room 344, bathroom needed work on the wall near the toilet. Would love a convenient location within arm's reach to charge my phone. Overall nice place with nice employees
A relaxing and amazing getaway for couples. This resort is also family friendly. The rooms have a balcony with rocking chairs that has a breathtaking view of the lake.
Staying at the IBHAC takes me back in time. A beautiful hotel with excellent rooms and a delicious restaurant downstairs (Vintage). Unfortunately I was there on business or I would have stayed longer. Highly recommended!
Staff was incredibly attentive and eager to help. The room was clean and the beds were wonderful. The food at the in house restaurant (Vintage Chophouse) was simply amazing!
A1 experience. Room had a view of the bay and was like a mini apartment complete with patio and gas fireplace. Restaurant is top notch with excellent food and service.
My dishes in the cabinets were not cleaned but I called the staff to let them know and it felt like they took that pretty seriously.
Gorgeous views, especially at dusk. Loved just sitting in my room with the patio door open listening to the waves, even though it was 50 degrees out.
