One of the nicest, clean roadside camping sites that I have ever seen.
Most spots offer incredibly beautiful views of the surrounding Adirondack Preserve.
Make sure that your vehicle is off road capable as some of the road side sites might not be to good for smaller vehicles (ground clearance issues) or overly large vehicles for that matter.

This is really a unique adventure camping here. Nearly all sites require a boat of some sort (rentals available at the campground or nearby marinas) but the seclusion and beauty is unmatched anywhere else. Come up here in fall for the colors and take one of the many hikes that start from the shorelines of this long lake.

Really great camping destination. The campsites are very private; not too close to each other. You really don't see or hear too many of the other campers around the lake. The campsites are also pretty spacious and comfortably equipped with a fire pit, grate for cooking, and an outhouse. My group had concerns that this pay-to-camp park would seem too crowded, commercial, have a lot of boat traffic or be overrun with park rangers - especially because all 50+ camp sites are booked solid virtually every weekend of the season. But our concerns were unfounded, the lake was quiet and private, very little boat traffic at all, and the lake staff were not intrusive at all (they are very friendly and accommodating while checking in and out). We also rented small fishing boats at Indian Lake Marina and that was a pretty laid back experience as well. We will definitely be returning next year. One note: there is no cell service at the lake or within a 20-minute radius of the lake. May or may not be a factor for some, but it's something to be aware of.

No words to describe my stay at Indian lakes, the staff at the office were so pleasant to be around. I almost would have asked for them to camp with us. Haha.
