Absolutely love this place!! The staff is so kind and attentive. The food is so good!! The mango lassi is amazing. And to top it all off, our waiter and all the staff in the restaurant brought dessert with a sparkler and sang happy birthday so joyously to my husband. Can’t recommend enough!!
Very nice food. Served hot. Staff is really polite and helpful. It's the best food I have ever tested in downtown location. They even served us complimentary dish as we were with kids.
Cost is high which is ok as it is in downtown…
Please keep some good food and maintain some quality and quantity when you are taking above $20 per order…
I was in with French fries which I have already for my 1 year kiddos…
I would really love following the rules that I can’t take the other restaurant food… but the way of conversation with the lady is rude ….
I highly recommend ….not to go here and wasting money and food as well as you don’t eat for sure ….
In my point of view .. this is not at all an Indian restaurant…..
My Chicago trips used to conclude with lunch at India House. The food quality (can talk about vegetarian only) has gone way down. Oily, bland and old with the exceptions of Samosa which was really nice and bread.
Still appreciate the number of options you have. Great faces and attitude like old times.
But you guys definitely need to step up on food, like old times (my last visit was Nov 2019). And where did the hot towels go? That was a good thing I liked.
The food is good, the buffet has a lot of options and the chat/other stuff is good too. The staff is good and serves properly and on time, so no complaints there. The only thing is that the cost of this place does not justify the taste of food you eat. It's not bad, but it's not the best either.
Great authentic Indian food. Menu selection is huge. I Would say one of my all time best Indian restaurants. Came highly recommended by a foodie Indian friend.
India House remains a favorite lunch spot when out with colleagues. The lunch buffet offers an incredible array of traditional and contemporary Indian specialties. It can get a bit busy, but but worth the wait.
The staff is well versed on the buffet options and will gladly guide you according to your personal preferences.
I don't usually go to buffet places, but this restaurant is more upscale than the typical buffet place - as reflected in the prices.
Definitely good food, lots of variety for vegetarian dishes in the buffet. Everything had a little sweet taste as with everything in the U.S, so not really authentic Indian, but still good.
Amazing Interiors and a huge central Bar.
To Top that Amazing authentic Indian cuisine.
And further top that with amazing lunch buffet price of 9.99 on weekdays and 14.99 on weekends.
Nothing more one can ask for.
Highly recommended. Take your entire family.
Their buffet is amazing. A lot of vegetarian options in addition to meat. Goat (though typically not my first choice in food) was spectacular! Highly recommend it for their buffet
Great décor. Great food. Great Menu. Great location. Every dish doesn't smell or taste same, which is great. Great collection of curries on the buffet stand.
Need improvement on attitude of staff towards guests. Otherwise, I would have given you a 6 star
Worst restaurant I have been to. Service is bad, very expensive food, food is bad. I don't recommend for anyone to go there
Nice decorgreat variety in vegetarian items but food is extremely oily. Too much cooking oil is used to make the food tasty. Lacks the authentic Indian touch. Has a formal set upgood for business lunch.
Great value buffet. They had a good spread with multiple options for veg and non vegetarians. The taste of food was above average for most dishes.
The decor of the place gives it a upacale feel to it and this adds to the value of the reasonably priced food.
Although this is my first review of this establishment, my co-workers and I frequent this restaurant. I am giving this restaurant only 3 stars because we never get anything other than the lunch buffet, which has a wide variety of foods that are always fresh, hot and delicious, and the staff is very attentive, making sure that we always have water and clear used plates! With the lunch buffet, they serve a very seasoned chicken with pita bread that I look forward to on each visit. Overall, if you like Indian food, I feel that this restaurant is worth trying!
We just went today to this restaurant. I love Indian food. And this restaurant one of the best Indian restaurants in Chicago. Great atmosphere, very delicious food, nice people, good service and everything is clean. Can't say nothing bad. We had a good time☺
Saw the reviews and came to this place with so much expectations. Probably it was that or the reason that it was an off-time, dishes were quite spicy. Would have been better if they had a cleaner restroom but they had a sign that indicated that the restroom was out of order (hopefully they fix it soon). The service was great and all other factors were on positive ends.
Bad food, really bad service. Not sure what the issue was with the server that night. From shouting from far away if we were ready to order, to bringing heated tomato puree for soup to not bothering to wait for us to finish eating before wanting to clean up the floor next to us, to being rude just to bring some water. Maybe he was just having a bad night. But the food alone should be enough of a reason not to go here. Chicago, you can do better!!
I came her with 7 co-workers. We had the lunch buffet, it was $16, but you gets tons of food. Everything was delicious. Such a wide variety of foods, from carnivores to vegans, everyone can be satisfied. Even though we ordered the buffet, the server was very attentive, and he made sure if we were done he attempted to take our plates. I'm definitely coming back here, I loved it.
I absolutely loved their food. The service was very on point. And their beverages are definitely worth trying. The lobster curry was something to remember and I will definitely be returning for more. Thank you. ;)
