Microbrewery style, which is great for family. Cool ambience, awesome staff. Great bar style food and awesome beer varieties. Wings and burger was awesome. Brownie dessert deserves special mention.

Passed this place many times but never stopped until today. Definitely worth a visit. Great ambience, friendly staff and my burger was cooked just right, very flavorful and juicy. Side salad was a nice portion and very fresh. Huge menu selection so I will come back and try other menu offerings. Great choice.

Excellent service, cozy atmosphere, even better food. Came with a large group and everyone got different items, and everyone loved what they got! Fried pickles are the bomb, the burgers were perfectly cooked and everything had so much flavor. I'm not a beer drinker, so I went with their cocktails. The Bloody and the Moscow Mule are amazing. Will be back often!

I really enjoyed the beer sampler. A variety of types to try and a nice printed menu.

The food was excellent. The nicest part of our meal was the kids meals. The meal included an appetizer of carrots/ranch followed by a main meal. On top of this there was an included dessert of a cookie with a small glass of milk and a little chocolate dipping sauce. Our boys loved it!

Add the good beer, food, and nice treatment for kids together and it guarantees we will be back.

So we went here after a movie to grab a beer and a bite to eat. Upon entering the whole place had a very strong .. garlic type smell. Anyway as we were walking to the table the floor was like oily feeling, almost slippery and we got sat next to the kitchen and bar service station. We ordered some beer and the hummus appetizer, their house brews weren't very impressive they didn't have a very good selection. The hummus was warm and runny, it was $9 for hummus and some raw veggies and they sprinkled some unknown seasoning on the pita which none of us ate. After the disappointing appetizer, and the room temp beers we decided not to order anything else. Also the bathrooms were very unclean, toilet paper everywhere and smelled of sewers. Usually the standards of cleanliness in the bathroom mirror the standards in the kitchen. Definitely won't be coming back.

We've been here twice. Both times they were slammed and both times we had excellent service. I ordered the lemon stuffed shrimp with Angel hair pasta and it was perfect. It wasn't drenched and sauce and grease which is hard to find at most restaurants.

The prices are a higher then we'd like but the place is perfect to treat yo self!

    Great food and service.
I've been to The Lucky Monk on several occasions, for birthdays, a work event or just to meet friends for dinner, and every time the service has been great and the food is wonderful. I would definitely recommend the truffle fries and The King burger!

Not too shabby. Happy hour is only Monday through Thursday, so don't expect to bring your work there for happy hour at the end of the week. Crab bisque is real good. Outdoor patio is OK, the retention pond brings in lots of bugs.

Reason for 2* review: Prides itself on being a brewpub but I couldn't get service to order another round; entree was dry.

Positives: Beer was excellent, great variety and extensive selection.

Went recently to the Lucky Monk in South Barrington. The waitress made a point of telling us that they are a brewpub that is focused around beer. "Excellent!", I thought, I love a good beer. Unfortunately that seems to be lip service, because while the beer we drank was excellent, it was like pulling teeth trying to get anyone to come back around to take another order. We were there for over two hours and I had two beers, one of which I had to call the waitress over to order.

I had the pork chops, which were flavorful but dry. The appetizers were a good size and tasty. I believe that everyone else in our party was happy except for one who burned her tongue on a hot soup but that was her own fault for not checking it first.

*I should caveat this review by saying that it was a busy Saturday night, however I don't personally accept 'Saturdays are busy' as an excuse for poor service. If you don't know that Saturdays are a busy night for restaurants, you're in the wrong trade. If you do know that they're busy, hire more staff. You can pay them with the money you make from being able to provide people with more drinks*

Grilled Cheese Cheeseburger was amazing. Also tried my brother's "The King Burger," equally as amazing. Appetizer sampler? You guessed it: Amazing. Wait staff is great. Kitchen is great. Mom and wife got a pizza. First one was BARELY burnt. Kitchen gave us that pizza and a brand new, non-burnt pizza without us even saying anything. Great place.
