We really love going here. It was really great swimming. Plenty of areas to sit down and stretch out on chairs for a tan. Make sure you designate a place to meet before you go in though. It's pretty easy to lose track of people if you're not careful. That's to say it gets pretty crowded and there are lots of areas out of direct line of sight. They let you bring in a cooler, so that makes it much more affordable to stay the whole day.

My daughter loved the Daniel Tiger attraction and show. It was disappointing to find out that they don't sell any Daniel Tiger t-shirts in the park. They should definitely get on that.

I'm giving the overall park 4 stars but Hallowboo was barely worth 2. They advertised it that the nursery ryhme characters would be passing out the candy but only 3 were. My grandson was still asking to see the missing Mother Goose hours after we left. The houses were adorable and he loved them but they are in need of some repair and paint. The employees were very friendly and great with the kids. Especially in Daniel Tigers Neighborhood. Kudos to the boys running that attraction! Great job!

Probably one of the worst parks I've ever visited. Sure it was not Disney and I wasn't expecting it to be like Disney but this place is beyond repair and I heard it's going even more downhill. When I went in 2012 and 2013 a good chunk of rides were closed, when I asked a staff member something, she ignored me but the Soak Zone part looks like something you see from Six Flags (which looks amazing compared to the trash here) it's not fair towards the people who want to go to the dry park. I am all for amusement parks but this park just needs to improve, DON'T BELIEVE THE GOLDEN TICKET AWARDS!!!! They just want you OUT of Disney (which I don't understand why, Disney is awesome)!

Many rides closed. Rides policies are beyond crazy stupid. Rides are in great need of repair- big areas of Rust. Several rides were very rough riding (that should not be - bearing and/or gears shot). Lots of wood rot all over the park. Most everything needs painting. Most employees not the friendliest.
Looks like a park is in desperate need of money and on it's last leg to stay open.
This use to be an amazing park, 20+ years ago. It's sad, but I would not recommend anyone waisting their hard earned money going here! We will definitely not go back.response / report this review -

We bought season tickets because we love it so much. Even though we live 2 1/2 hours away it's worth the drive. I have a 4 and 5 year old and they absolutely love it. There is something for everyone. The park is under the trees so your not in the sun all day. The staff there are very friendly and helpful

Idlewild is still one of the most enjoyable parks for the whole family. The rides aren't too intense but there is a charm to the park that you can't find elsewhere. Most of the staff are friendly and accommodating. The lines usually aren't too long as you will only wait a few minutes tops. The longest wait is usually for the trolley and that is only due to the limited seating and the length of the ride.
The park is showing some signs of aging and could use a little extra attention in certain areas. There also seem to be a few rides that are rarely open over the last few years. Unfortunately these are some of the larger rides that are also a bit more thrilling. So if you are seeking thrills, this may not be the place for you.
Now if you want a relaxing day out with the entire family, this is the park for you! Watching kids react to seeing Daniel Tiger or watching them enjoy the kiddie rides is worth it. The soak zone is also a fun place for everyone and just right to cool down on those hot days. Speaking of cooling down, this park offers a lot of natural shade leaving very few totally open areas. Even on the warmest of days you won't be trapped in the sun for any length of time.
Go for the entire experience and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere!response / report this review -

Perfect park for families with tots. Excellent and very clean changing area for little kids, rocking chairs in the bath house for nursing moms and sleepy babies.

One of the cleanest and most family-friendly parks around. Perfect for young families (this is NOT an amusement park for thrill seekers since they really only have 1 or 2 real roller coasters). Of the times I've been here, I don't recall it ever being too crowded. SoakZone is definitely Idlewild's biggest appeal, with plenty of waterslides of all types and a sort of water playground (I was too old for it by the time it was completed). Unlike Kennywood, which is either for roller coaster enthusiasts or young kids, this park is genuine fun for the whole family.

We went to the park today and my 2 year old could only ride a total of 6 rides because she is under 36 inches . I recommend if your kids are less then 36 inches to go to another amusement park.

I have been coming to Idlewild Park since I was a baby. Storybook forest was always my favorite and 1st thing I wanted to go through. As an Adult I came back to take my own child through the park. I was so disappointed in the maintenance of the story book forest. It looked rundown and not taken care of at all. What happened to the landscaping? Most of the characters were not working and there was no sound or songs. There use to be loads of actors at each stop to interact with. The only thing new and well kept was the brand new princess castle. The rest of the forest had not been taken care of especially the lake! It was completely swamp like. Please take better care of the grounds and start planting more plants. I didnt see one flower that was alive. We spent the rest of the day at the pool since it was hot weather. I was definitely disappointed overall. I will return in two years and hopefully you will make some improvements.
