This is usually the best haunted house in Pittsburgh! But I took my little sister here the second week it was open and was very disappointed! The line was not lying about 2miles long, so we decided to pay for the VIP tickets(70.00). We got right in that wasn't the issue. The issue was we were with 13 other people in the back and didn't get scared at all. I understand that they were busy but they shouldn't of let so many people in one group. I am sure it would of been really good if they had smaller groups. Just use caution if you go on a busy night!

EDIT: In October 2017, I went again - this time at the very start of the evening. I made sure I couldn't run into ANYONE. It worked!! The attraction itself is wonderfully put together with enthusiastic actors, and it looks like they are still working on how to properly space out the groups.
This is usually a yearly experience for me and my friends, but after the past two years, we may take a break.
Don't get me wrong: the effort they put into this is phenomenal. The scenery is well thought-out, the costumes and make-up on the actors are great the actors themselves are wonderful. I just think they need to tweak the crowd control.
For 2016, we waited over an hour to get into the attraction, which is the longest wait we've had ever. We thought that perhaps it was due to them spacing out patrons to prevent the pile-up towards the end of the attraction, which happened the year prior, as well. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case; the crowd started to pile up about halfway through. When this happens, it takes a lot of the suspense away, because the actors don't have time to reset for the next group. It becomes a loop of the same scare that you can see coming from several feet away.
I really want to enjoy HAM again; I usually rave about it to friends and family, because it is such a well planned attraction. Please please tweak the spacing of those allowed through the haunted house. Or perhaps enlist the actors to encourage patrons to move along when they're staying a little too long.response / report this review -

Having gone to many haunted houses over the years, I have to say without a doubt this one is the best I have ever been to. The amount of time and work put in to make all of the special effects is phenomenal. You certainly get your money's worth here cause it takes about 40 minutes to through. I am glad to see they got rid if that maze at the end. If you have never been here, go because you will not be disappointed!

AWESOME haunted house! They even went easy on my 8 year old! I come here every year, and I will until I'm old and gray. The actors do such an amazing job, and stay in character! I can't say enough good things about this place! All for an amazing cause 🎃👿

Went here last year and can't wait to go this year! The makeup and actors are fantastic. I absolutely love this place. They are there to scare, and do a great job! No one broke character, the props are amazing. The house is fantastically split up into multiple sections of fear. This place is very well put together. You won't be disappointed!!

There were few “actors”. The characters that were there were lethargic and uninterested. One character literally just snapped his finger while resting inside a bookshelf. They stopped selling VIP tickets, made everyone wait in a 3 hour line, and made nothing worth the wait. Per the staff, this was the busy night of the year. You think for your most popular night you would have staffed better. I would hate to see it on a night that wasn’t popular. The bathrooms were grotesque and unsanitary. The concession only takes cash and yet has this posted no where, nor did they offer the use of an ATM. I had family who drove 2 hours to go and for whatnothing at all. I would not recommend this to anyone again.

It all depends on what scares you. Don't go in the first two weeks it's open. I went yesterday for opening night. They let us in at 7:00 but weren't able to enter the house until 8:00. Hour wait was a bit annoying but they said it had to get dark before you're allowed in. (This is because the middle portion had elements that are outside). Don't go when it rains, or just rained recently, you'll get dirty/wet. The scenery is 5/5. The props were very realistic. The actors were 4/5. They got me to jump a few times, but like I said if you go in the first two weeks it's open, they lack on actors. Some actors just sit there, while most jump out or yell (sometimes both). Again, the scenery was amazing, but it wasn't horrifying. If you're the person that has a fear of one thing and one thing only. I can tell you that they have a section that will make you uncomfortable! 4/5 overall.

Amazing! I have little to no words to describe how incredible this haunt is! You can really tell how much work the owners put in to this place! I go multiple times a season because I see/feel new things everytime!

This place WAY surpasses Rich's Fright Farm! It's so much better than and lasts longer than and the prices much, much better than Fright Farm! Will always go here and recommend EVERYONE go here!

Hands down the best haunted house I've been to. Great production value and find new ways to make it exciting every year. It's never the same experience twice. I love it! And if you love to be scared you'll love it too. Only downside is it gets very crowded and the wait time can be upwards of an hour.

If your into a large amount of mechanical scares, large groups and fake fog this place is great. We paid for VIP on jeep night got right in, this was the best part of the night. The group we went with was 8 deep we made 10, the group in front of them got all the scares from the actors our group pretty much walked through un phased and largely disappointed. Very cool scenes, and props I appreciate the detail but the scaring part was very weak not worth the extra money for VIP, but the parking pass and the t shirt was cool. I would say this attraction 1 put of 10 but the dental and props I would give a 6, I can't rate the scares because there wasn't any.
