Phenomenal experience!! From my arrival to my departure the team at Hyatt Place were exceptional! The managers and the staff were impeccably friendly and very accommodating. The customer service was stellar. I will absolutely be returning to Salt Lake City and will definitely stay at the Hyatt Place Downtown Gateway when I do 😊!

I love staying at this place! They are professional, yet friendly, and offer all of the amenities. My husband especially likes their lobby bar after we return from the Jazz game or a concert (which is right across the street). His only regret is that they don't serve Bud Light. Very clean and friendly!
Update: THEY NOW SERVE BUD LIGHT!!!

All of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was nice and clean with comfortable beds. Delicious breakfast with a good variety. Great location; we were able to walk to a Jazz game and also ride TRAX for some touring. Would definitely recommend.

The rooms are in need of maintenance -- shower and closet doors in various states of disrepair, window curtains with many holes in them, room HVAC in extreme need of update, TVs from the early 2000s I'm told they're renovating in 2018, so we'll see.

Breakfast is good (I still want my damn self-serve waffles, but I'm a classless hobo). Staff is extraordinarily nice and accommodating -- I cannot stress this enough, these are some of the friendliest, most understanding people I have ever met in my life. Despite the state of the rooms, 4 stars.

Disclaimer -- my company pays whenever I stay here. I wouldn't even consider spending this kind of money, as I do not use the various accommodations offered by this particular hotel, like the workout room, pool, or lobby/eatery.

The staff here is amazing. They anticipate your needs and how above and beyond to take care of you! My friend was sick and they helped me take care of her! Great location! Beautiful property! Great four day stay!

The hotel is very nice. It's a couple of blocks away from where all the action is. Breakfast was okay they don't have a lot of seating area so if you get breakfast a little later you might not find seating. I was there for business so I appreciated how quiet it was.

Great location for a Business meeting. Easy to use Public transportation, also close to Downtown. Company also had breakfast and lunch catered by the staff, it was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Wonderful staff. Very helpful. There was an issue with the computers and getting keys. Staff was great and was still able to get people checked in and into their rooms, they brought keys by after their system was back up

The rooms are nicely furnished and very spacious. The lobby is quite inviting and has a small bar attached with a very small restaurant with very limited ready made choices. Since it is Utah you are required to buy a food item if you order an alcoholic drink. I would recommend the Reese's peanut butter cookie it is absolutely delicious. They have a small workout room, spa and swimming pool. Breakfast is included offerings vary by the day of the week it is above average but not terrific. Access to the trolley is just a couple walks away and there's a wide area that you can ride for free to get to the downtown and other areas.

Beautiful, comfortable rooms, very clean. Breakfast is wonderful. Pool is a bit small and I didn't care for the neighbor's dog barking non stop. Not sure if they limit pets to certain areas or not. If they don't they should.

The room was nice and centrally located to Downtown. It is very close to the Interstate and trains but we didn't hear any noise from either. We did see a decent amount of homelessness in the streets but felt safe in the hotel. My only gripe was that they didn't disclose in advance that parking isn't included so when checking in he asked me if I needed a place to park and of course I said yes only to find out on my bill upon leaving there was a daily charge to park in their lot. You really have no other option in the area to park if you have a car.

I was here because of a fencing tournament and my stay has been great. It's located near a shopping area that is very nice and it's a very short walk to the train(which is free). Overall the room is pretty good and I don't have any complaints so far. The room service was good and the people running the front desk we're both nice and helpful.

Hotel was nice and was in a very good location. It is about a 3-5 minute walk from the TRAX stop and about a 10 minute walk from temple square. Hotel was clean and tidy and the Prices for the order food weren’t bad. I gave 4 star because the fold out couch was awfully uncomfortable (may be good for children) and the breakfast (which has a good variety and selection and is also fresh) gets bogged down. Often there were 5+ minute periods with no plates or glasses and there were times where there was no seating. Also it would be nice if breakfast lasted a little longer. We were told it was 6:00-9:30 when we checked in but it was only 6-9. It does go until 10:00am on Saturday but is incredibly bogged down as mentioned.

    Overall good and would recommend.

What a pleasant surprise. I chose Hyatt Place because of previous reviews, and it was better than I had expected. Little things really do make a difference. The bed was comfy. There were 4 normal size fluffy pillows on the bed, most places have flattened lifeless miserly pillows. The shower was spacious with a glass slider instead of a crappy shower curtain. And the location was very close to the event we attended. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in SLC, and I will book here again.

Good location within close walking distance to downtown shopping and restaurants. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We stayed in a king room but was surprised to see that it was more like a suite at most hotels. The hotel also had an excellent complementary breakfast. There was a fitness centre, outdoor pool and hot tub that we did not use during our stay.
