Absolutely the most horrendous experience buying shoes. Don't go there ever!
We visited mackinaw island and my son's shoes got wet. As we forgot to bring a spare pair we asked where we could buy shoes in mackinaw city. We were told that hush puppies Mackinaw might have shoes. We got into the store and my husband explained that we needed shoes for our son. We were told that kids shoes are in the back. We explained that we need dry socks to try on the shoes as my son's socks were already wet. As we were pulling a new pair of socks off the shelf we were told in a mean voice that we have to pay for them. Well of course we were going to pay for them! My husband asked repeatedly for help and all we got is that we can just look for ourselves. We did end up finding shoes but the sales people had the most horrible attitude and were sitting there doing absolutely nothing. If you want to pay lots for a pair of shoes and find them yourselves this is your place! If not stay away!
