Nice park with lots of activities available. Excellent for lake kayaking. Good trails for hiking or biking. Nice tent camping spots in the Royal Oak campground with very clean restrooms & bathhouse. Good playground areas. Many available picnic areas. Lots of fishing spots. A swimming / beach area that is nice but could use someone to help keep it clean. Restrooms in the general park area could be better maintained and cleaner.

I loved this place! The cabin that we stayed in was awesome. All that we needed plus wonderful sheets and blankets. We missed out on eating at the restaurant on site. Can't wait to come back in good weather to kayak and swim in the lake.

We camped at Burson; a very nice small campground. Has a newer bathhouse in addition to the original. One swing set. Sites along road next to spill way are large. Easy access to several trail heads. We will return.

What a beautiful state park Hungry Mother State Park in Marion, VA is and it offers so many activities with astounding views and vistas.

One of the nicest assets of Hungry Mother is the knowledgeable Gift Shop attendant, Linda Smith. Ms. Smith is the essence of a public official who is engaged in helping and informing visitors and she is at the top of the Virginia State Parks game. Other parks officials could benefit themselves and the public by learning this lady's style.

Hats off as well to Hungry Mother Superintendent Nate Clark. His people are buttoned up and very friendly. I love to see people who carry guns but don't act like they have one on. The park was extremely manicured.

I have held many appointed positions with all levels of parks and am well schooled, so I pass my compliments on to the folks at Hungry Mother State Park after having viewed the park with eyes of recreation but also of critique. Well done.

I fell in love with this park! It was so peaceful and relaxing. The lake and trails are absolutely beautiful! The kids enjoyed the beach and swimming and i was pleased to see multiple life guards on duty. Paddle boats, kayaks, and canoes are available for renting. We rented a paddle boat and spent an hour on the lake and it was amazing! There is so much to do!!!! Pack a picnic and stay all day!!!!!

A wonderful park! The best! We camped and the site was clean and well maintained and in a beautiful setting. Really, the entire park is beautiful and I could stay there forever.

Love this State Park. Used to go with family camping every summer. Now as an adult, doing it again with my kids. Great memories then and now!

Nice park with cleaner facilities than others I've been to. 180-acre lake is fun to spend time on, whether boating, fishing or just hanging out on the beach area. Highly recommend site B19. Right on the creek, in the shade and plenty of room. Also has some nice hiking trails too!

What a beautiful majestic park with so many activities to do. If you feeling a little adventurous make sure to take the trek up Molly’s Knob trail and finally up Molly Vista for the beautiful view at the top. In my opinion Hungry Mother is probably one of the best state parks in Virginia.

This is one of our favorite State Parks in Virginia. We stayed in a cabin and enjoyed everything about this park. They have a beautiful lake for canoeing or fishing. During the warmer months there is a nice beach for swimming. Very nice and well kept up trails. The cabin was clean and cozy. I would highly recommend this as a destination get away.
