FALSELY ACCUSED OF SMOKING AND THEY TOOK MY SECURITY DEPOSIT. My powers out two blocks away, 3rd night staying here and upon checkout I was accused of the room smelling "really bad". Ive literally been just sleeping and using the electricity here!!! Yes, I smoke but I did not smoke anywhere on this property!!! Im furious. I emailed and called in a complaint, cops should arrive soon to tell us if this room smells like smoke or not. Rediculous!! And the front desk lady refuses to give me her name. What the f!!!!!

Comfortable, quite, and clean room. Easy parking. Friendly staff. Breakfast is quite modest. For the price, it's worth it.

I think for the price, this is a great hotel. It's not super fancy but the staff is nice, location is great, rooms are comfortable and clean, and offers ample parking spaces. I will return.

I was told there would be 2 queen size beds in room but they were definitely not queen size, bathroom tob had a big chip in the side

Working many hours through the week i decided to stop by and check for any room vacancy here local in the SDSU area, I pulled over and looked up nearest motels/hotels the young lady at this location if i recall her name Kathy was so helpful even though i asked about prices and was not sure i wanted to stay there she said to come by and she would let me see the rooms. These rooms were nice and clean, the pillows looked so comfy i said ok lets booked this one.
Thank you Kathy for allowing me to stay at your establishment.
***Veterans i give this place a 5 star for service and great courteous personality. Oooorah semper fi.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at the drinks were called the service was nice very professional I would definitely recommend it to everybody in the world that I've ever met in my life and all of their friends

They kept everything simple.Breakfast was good. Dryers in laundry was broke. SMOKE FREE. Clean room. Mini Fridge with small freezer part and microwave a good microwave. TV was very nice and effective. Beds were as expected along with linens and pillows Nice people and clean environment. Has everything you can need near by Post office, CVS, Grocery, Fast Food, Restaurant.

I am a returning customer and am once again satisfied with the politeness of the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel. Thank you to Justin at the front desk for being patient and taking care of us! Looking forward to returning in the near future.

Also, Trujillo's in the parking lot gets a big thumbs up.

After having a very poor experience with a Motel 6 in downtown San Diego, we were able to secure a room at this Howard Johnson. It's very close to the SDSU campus and easily accessible off of the I-8 freeway. The front desk gal was extremely friendly and polite which was very refreshing after the day we had. The room was very clean and the property seemed secure and quiet. Will definitely stay here again.

2 stars is the best I can give. Our room was not cleaned after we used it for the first day. The cleaners wrote and signed on their documentation that they cleaned it when in fact not a single sheet was changed at all. Food was okay, there's a diner next door and there's some stores nearby. The western hotel near by is better. I'll do that next time. The only reason it has 2 stars is because of the lady that signed us in. She was genuinely nice, hope she gets a better place to work.

P.S like others states they have deposits. 150. I'll be checking my credit card like a hawk.
