Great location BUT horrible service ! Me and my friend stayed there and 4 totally strangers open and went I to our room !! My friend was changing in the bathroom which is right by the door ! I looked at this two guys like what were they doing in our room they said that, our room was there room that they had a key ! They left and when we complained all they said oh sorry can I buy you a Starbucks? Horrible! We left that same day

Great location, room was clean and tidy although on the small side. Didn't help that the two queen size beds had largish bed ends that stuck out and caught everyone's shins. No bar fridge, although staff were accomodating and brought one up. No coffee making facilities, although coffee/tea and pastries available in hotel lobby every morning, which was a nice touch.

Excellent location. Rooms are basic but comfortable and clean. Try and get a room on the top floor otherwise the noises from the busy surrounding streets may disturb you. A good base for exploring L.A.

We stayed here in February. We had a family room which consisted of 2 rooms. Older hotel but clean and tidy. Friendly staff. Close to the Pier and awesome burger place around the corner. Handy to the mall as well. Would definitely recommend.

I was a first time traveler and did not know check in was at 12 p.m and my family got there at 3 a.m. I was told by the person at the counter on 03/12/2017 that check in was at 12 pm and I should have known. I explained to him I was a first time traveler shouldn't they have gone over that with me? He responded "no ma'am they don't have to tell you and all of our rooms are dirty and housekeeping is gone and we don't have check in until noon. You should have known" I said even if I am a fist time traveler? Very rude very dismissive and had no customer service at all! We had driven 19 hours. We went around the corner in our rental tired and hungry. Called anther hotel and they actually offered us a room but only had one bed and Travel lodge was kind and understanding. I became upset and called Hotel Carmel again and told them we are sleeping in the car and I have my children there is nothing you can do? He responded (very bothered that I called) come back I might be able to help you. When I went back he actually said he had a room ready. That someone had cancelled their reservation. I was very upset that he knew this and had no intentions on helping us. The manager there was very kind at the end of our vacation and explained how billing is billed to us at check out. Door men were very kind as well. But because of lack of customer service from the counter I will never book a room again.

This newly remodeled spot is conveniently located in the heart of Carmel. Nothing but praise. We had an upstairs fireplace room that was large, comfortable and well appointed. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bed was ridiculously cozy and comfortable. The adjacent pub under the lobby on the street level was fun and tasty for a snack. Parking can be a little difficult, but nothing too inconvenient. Lovely stay.

This was my first visit to Carmel for four nights and I stayed here at the recommendation of Tripadvisor reviews. I was not disappointed. Location: perfectly situated a few blocks from the main town center and restaurants and about a 20 minute walk from the beach and Carmel mission. Never had to drive during my whole stay. Room: I had

Perfect location in Santa Monica and is walking distance to the pier, the shops and restaurants. The rooms & hotel in general could do with some modernisation. Hair dryer is not included in the room however is available on request at reception (This wasn't advised at check in so make sure to ask). The bed is comfortable enough, the shower was powerful and the TV has a wide range of cable channels. We were located in room 328 and our view from the room wasn't great as we had the generators/air con machinery right outside. This also made a noise throughout the night however if you sleep with the air con on you wouldn't notice it much anyway. I cannot comment on the breakfast as we didn't take advantage of it however it is located in the lobby area (there is no separate restaurant) and we were advised on check in that it was continental, serving pastries and coffees. Hotel is good for the price and it's location.
