The rooms were exactly what you'd expect from a holiday inn. Clean, nice, and comfortable. My only complaint was the restaurant in-house was outrageously expensive. I paid $40 for a chicken parm meal and one beer.
Really disappointed in this place. I checked in at 2am and they put me in a room right next to construction that started at 8am. They had plenty of other rooms available, just didn't think about it. When I complained, the manager offered me a "cup a coffee".
Typical Holiday Inn. The room is fine but note that they don’t include a drug or microwave which I usually expect from a Holiday Inn. The one plus is that there is a pull out laptop height table. The bathroom fan comes on whenever you turn on the light and it’s really loud.
The food is really expensive and just OK. But there aren’t places nearby to eat and getting somewhere isn’t very easy. If you have breakfast, order off the menu rather than do the buffet. The food is fresher and better. All orders include gratuity so take note.
Pretty cool hotel, I checked put the bar and ordered some appetizers and the food was pretty good. The bar tender somehow knew what I wanted to drink before I ordered and I thought that was awesome. The place is pretty clean and overall the staff was cool
This holiday inn was clean, amenities were good and checking in was fast. The only issue (not a fault of the hotel) is that EWR has all of the hotel shuttles pick up outside the main terminals. That means that what should be a 5 min drive ended up taking 30 minutes via AirTrain and then the shuttle itself.
Decent airport hotel. Food and beverage very expensive. Desk staff nice and attentive, restaurant staff barely functional. Close to airport with shuttle, though seemingly endless road construction (not the hotel's fault) makes self navigation an issue. Beware a $125 deposit on your credit card as they seem to assume you will skip out on tour restaurant/room service tab.
Exactly what you need when you are staying near the airport. A much better price than the Marriot there and the quality of the rooms for the price is outstanding. The drivers of the shuttles are the nicest folks. One lady was stranded because her hotel wouldn't pick her up. Even though he didn't need to our holiday inn driver took her to that hotel seeing her in distress. He said make sure that you book with us next time. Genius marketing from a shuttle driver who cares about people and the company her works for.
24 hour airport shuttle. Full service restaurant with room service. Clean rooms. Nice linens. Modern design.
Clean, but weak in other areas. No free breakfast for guests and prices in hotel restaurant are AWFUL; service there is almost as bad. Ordered a coffee.guy brought me instant coffee and charged, what $5. Another time server stood there and played with his gum between his front teeth while taking my order. At breakfast once.sorry no bagels today?! How hard is it to stock freaking bagels in NJ!! No pool. No frig in rooms. Shuttle service to / from airport is friendly, quick, and reliable. 5 stars for clean and comfortable rooms and shuttle service. 2 stars for everything else. 3 overall.
The front lobby was beautiful with free coffee in the morning. The room was clean and spacious. I would stay there again.
Historically I'm not a big fan of the Holiday Inn chain but I booked this stay on Priceline so you get what you get. The drive to the hotel concerned me as the areas is traditional NJ well worn but that all changed when I arrived. Three things stood out. First, the hotel is very clean and felt like they had professional pride. I was very pleasantly surprised. Second, the service was friendly and efficient. Finally, the biggest surprise of all was the outstanding food from the restaurant. I ordered both room service and dined in the restaurant and both times the food was great, the portions were large, and the service was fast. The entire stay was a very positive experience for a lower priced hotel and I would definitely stay at this location again.
I've stayed at many Holiday Inn hotels. The rooms are always clean, comfortable, and spacious and the staff has always been great. This Holiday Inn was no exception. We had a great stay. Holiday Inn will continue to be my hotel of choice.
My flight was delayed and I arrived late. The complementary shuttle was waiting at Newark Airport so I didn't have to call or wait. Very short ride ti the hotel. Staff at check in was courteous (it was 1:15am) and room was very comfortable. Staff at restaurant was okay. My stay was only one night. It was a short but comfortable stay.
This hotel was typical Holiday Inn level, and I would have thought that everybody knew what that was. The room was clean and the room was functional. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom. Toiletries provided were sent. The only real negative I had was that my room was close to the elevator which was noisy all night. If I stayed again I would ask to be far away from the elevator. The restaurant was also really not great and it was rather overpriced. This is a really convenient airport hotel though, and I have never enjoyed fine dining in an airport hotel. I ate in the restaurant and the food and service were both OK. Definitely neither was great, but OK. I'd stay here again if I need to be in NJ for an early appointment.
