this is my favorite hotel brand as a spire member and staying 200+ nights a year. the staff was great, but the rooms need remodeled. bathroom has been pieced together over the years to fix things along the way and its age is starting to show. side entrance to hotel from the parking lot is a prime example of what i am referring to. it’s time to bite the bullet and start renovating the rooms especially for the rate i was paying this past weekend.

Genuine, caring, friendly staff. Loved staying here. Lots of shops and restaurants in the area. Clean rooms, stayed here for a quick getaway, and easy to find off of US 119.

After living in the Charleston area for 12 years, we moved away and came back in town to visit family. I am stating this because we were well aware of a very unfortunate incident that happened at this hotel a few years back. We decided that we would try this hotel anyways because it had been several years and they probably were extra careful because of their history. We arrived on Thanksgiving Eve which was an extremely slow evening for them. When the elevator door opened to the second floor where our room was located, we smelled natural gas. We walked to our room down the hall getting faint smells of gas throughout the hall. We went downstairs and told the young desk clerk. She called the maintenance man and he had her go smell. She went and smelled while we waited downstairs. She said there was some sort of smell, but didn't think it was gas. Over the phone the maintenance man said that it was probably sewer smell since the hotel had a low vacancy that evening and he would not come check it out. We have done many construction projects having smelled both sewage and gas leaks. It was not sewer. It was gas. We had to check out and find another hotel in order to assure our safety. Shameful the way this was not handled. I assume because it was Thanksgiving Eve.

Location was good enough. Fairly close to the highway. Room was very nice. Service was good, staff was friendly. Breakfast was good. Pool looked. Very nice, though we did not use it. Would recommend if you're looking for a reasonably priced place to stay.

Staff worked with me to find a room I could breathe in. As an asthmatic, this is not simple due to allergy issues complicating things. They did this last minute due to a water main break at another location I had already reserved a room at. Staff is top notch. Room is good quality and clean, but somewhat outdated, and the A.C. is loud (I don't personally care, but it may be an issue for some.) Will easily come back if an opportunity presents itself.

Hotel is dated and obviously refurbished. Suites are not much more than a regular room with extra furniture stuffed in. Room was too warm when we arrived. Staff was consistently friendly and worked to be helpful. Standard Holiday Inn Express free breakfast. They need new luggage carts. The three we saw were very old and worn. We used our IHG app to get directions through Google maps and it led us 20 miles off course into a bad part of town. Inside was clean. Our floor was missing the ice machine. Poll was small and closed to use by guests. Spoke to manager Saturday September 23, 2017. He listened and did what he could. He's a veteran and we all owe him graditude for his service to our country.

I visit this hotel regularly, and words cannot express how great the staff is. They are so friendly, and always remember my name. I love the new pillows on the beds, and my room is always immaculately clean and dark enough for me to get a great nights rest. If your coming to the area, I strongly recommend this hotel. It is my first choice when visiting Charleston.

We stayed here for an overnight stop on a road trip. It was worth the price! We have young kids and the beds are comfortable, the room didn't smell, the room was clean and the breakfast was really great! The service staff at the breakfast was especially friendly and helpful! The walls are thin- we could hear our neighbor's conversation and water running, but luckily they went to sleep at the same time as we did. The hallways needed vaccummed, but we arrived late and left early so I'm assuming they don't do that during sleeping hours. We did have someone attempt to steal our bikes off our rack in the parking lot overnight, but they were secured- so be sure to bring in or lock up any valuables (as you always should).

We stayed and visited this Holiday Inn for business purposes hosting an event in the conference rooms. It was a great experience all around. It was close to the local airport with easy directions to get here. Tim, whom I believe was the manager, was super friendly and accommodating the entire time of our stay. Him and his crew went above and beyond expectations. The crew was great, the rooms were well kept and clean, and over all a great stay. Thank you for everything!

It was very clean and really nice. They still have a few smoking rooms the rest were nonsmoking. The nonsmoking rooms did not smell like smoke.

The guy at the front desk was very unprofessional and rude! When you drive from 2:pm, Friday until almost 5:am, Saturday, you appreciate a nice person at the front desk and a quick check-in (when you're a GOLD member) so you can get in a quick nap before having to get up and be at work by 7:am

We have been staying here for work on and off for the past couple of months doing road work. The rooms are always clean, and the staff always remembers us and greets us by name. There are always fresh baked cookies in the evening, and it feels like coming home every evening with the warm and friendly greeting we get from the front desk staff.

My co-workers and I will never stay at any other hotel as long as we have work in the Charleston area. There is a lot of shopping and restaurants around. This is a perfect location for a hotel if your coming to Charleston.

The beds are firm so if you like firm mattresses this is the place to stay. The manager was great and helpful but there is no fan in the bathroom and with 3 men in a room that's bad.
