Pet friendly. Friendly staff. Nice and quiet location even though it's off of the highway. It was really great to be able to bring my fur baby with me. Clean rooms and hotel. The free breakfast was a perk. Super comfy beds.

Convenient location right off 76. Friendly staff accommodated late night check in and left a welcome note in the room! Gym was free and the included breakfast good as usual. Another great stay at Holiday Inn Express!

We came in late, on our way home from the East coast, and the over night staff was so friendly. Easily got a room for the night. The room was clean and perfect for two tired drivers. Breakfast the next morning was a little crowded, not the best space for it I think, but it was hot and there were lots of pastry selections. Overall, great overnight stay, right off the turnpike.

We stayed last night with our dog. This morning we were harassedwhen we were leaving breakfast with our pooch. A fat man in the corner was offended by our dog and complained. ( our dog was 100% well behaved the whole time. We did not bother anyone) as We were walking out. An employee walked up and said if our dog isn't a service dog. She not allowed. After paying extra for our dog to stay and my pup behaving perfectly. We were harrassed!

    Please read to the end.

Buy far the worst hotel experience I have every had. To be fair, hotel was nice and my room was clean. The king room I was given was extremely small, and I am basing this on other hotels I have stayed in the past.

Please note that this is not the reason for my 1-star. In all actuality, I really wish I didn't have to give a star in order to leave a review.

Going back to my oringinal statement of this being the WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER!

This is based on my interaction with the hotel "manager" Kara. It started with her telling me that she could not complete my reservation because the credit card used to book the hotel did not have the total funds. (That I understand)

I usually like to pay cash for my room because of all the issues fraud and someone using my card/information.

Side note: I travel alot for basketball tournaments and have stayed in my fair share of hotels before. My normal routine is to book a hotel with a card that I don't use, but has a little bit of cash on it. Once I get the the hotel I let the reception know that I will be paying cash. There are times when I pay the cash right at check in, or at check out.

So when I arrived at Holiday Inn Express I had no thought in my mind that I would not be able to do the same. Not so.

Back to my encounter: after she told me that she could not complete my booking and I told her I will my cash, and pay now if that is needed, she continued to be cold and condescending. I got emotional because I felt that I was now hotelless in a area I am unfamiliar, and with my son.

She did help by taking another card with the full amount, which I do recognize, but it does not end there.

I mistakenly pronounced her name wrong while leaving the counter and she yelled at me with how I should pronouce it, imfront of guests that were waiting to be checked in (unprofessional #1)

At this point I was totally upset and extremely emotional, but I didn't want to act in a way that would not reflect the women that I am. So I left it and went to my room to cool down.

As my son and I were leaving for dinner, I  wanted to talk to her to get a better understanding of why she/the hotel couldn't take cash.

She was dealing with other guests so I patiently waited, when done she did not call me up to the counter, so I waited there for about 2 minutes. After that I walked up and she rudely said "can I help you!" Very aggressively.

I told her the reason for me coming to the counter. She kept doing what she was doing and not looking at me or giving me any attention. The only time she looked straight at me was when she raised her voice at me to tell me that I am harassing her (not so) and that she is going to call the police on me ( I really wished she did) my son was there and heard the whole ordeal. She then walked completely away from me and went into the side office.

I then asked her if I, as a paying customer was not important enough for her to stop what she's doing, she then said "that is what I said"
Side note: I recorded our whole conversation

I then told her that my intentions where to come down stairs and talk to her women-to-women and offer her an apologize for if I offered her earlier. She said quote " I don't need your apology"

I hope you continued to read so you can  understand why I gave 1-star, but really didn't want to give any. My experience with Kara the "manager" completely over shadowed my stay. I was paranouded that she would go in my room when we left, to do something, and I kept looking outside at my car to see if it was ok. I will never stay here again!

1 star because if last impression. Room was wonderful. Staff was wonderful. The breakfast was awful. They were remodeling. The food was served in their meeting room. Np problem. Except the machines kept blowing fuses so nothing worked. No hot food like what is advertised on their billboards. I had bread and butter with warm milk.
