We stayed for an overnight for a local show at the Machine Shop and really enjoyed the staff and service. Our front desk girl was really pleasant and helped us find some local eats and drinks, and was so sweet and complimentary to my "gorgeous" wife (which made her night and mine 😁)
They offered us a free shuttle to the venue which saved us an Uber so we really appreciated that. Keep in mind you'll wanna give them a heads up when you want to leave and no shuttle return but this is still great for those going to nearby Machine Shop!
The room was clean and we werent in it much but to sleep and get cleaned up. Now our only complaint which is kind of important is the beds sit up way too high to get in. For anybody who has trouble getting up, or is short you'll wanna get a step stool or ask if all rooms have these newer beds? Also, getting down is a challenge i almost rolled my ankle waking up to go to the bathroom, and my wife and I are younger and in fairly good shape so this will be an issue or a heads up to visitors we wanted to stress!
Otherwise, staff was great. We felt safe, and even thou the building doesnt look as good or as renovated as other properties we would still recommend staying here! Good discount as well booking thru Machine Shop website link on their about page!response / report this review -

I came at 230am and they were very nice and helpful at the front desk. It was quick and easy. When I got to the room it was very professional and clean. It wasn't to hot or to cold in there

I give this hotel a hesitant 4 stars. The area around it is pretty unsavory but the hotel itself was nice. We got a room with a jacuzzi tub, everything was clean and orderly, as it should be. There weren't bed bugs. The staff was nice and breakfast was given,the breakfast was actually surprisingly good; it was a lot more robust than other hotels I've been to.

Very courteous staff, good breakfast variety. Rooms are very tight in terms of space. If you're a clean freak, there's dust all over the room and another hotel with rust in the bath tub. Cable is not the best and surprisingly for a Holiday Inn the room didn't have a folder guide for restaurants, amenities and attractions close by.

Room was very clean and the neighborhood was quiet. The people who worked there were very nice. Lori checked us in and couldn't ask for a better front desk person.

Place is good for the area. Staff is great. Came in at 10am requesting an early check in when they were fully booked. They navigated my frustrations and got me a room in 20 minutes. Great people.

Reserved a room with 2 beds was given a king sized bed, the person on duty quickly rectified the situation. The new room was 2 beds and fairly clean. If you want to plug in more than 2 devices, you'll need an extension cord (there were only 2 places to charge phones and that was if the alarm clock wasn't plugged in). The beds were very uncomfortable, if you have any sort of back issue, you may want to look elsewhere. I've been waiting for a call from the manager to address several issues with the room (412)the A/C didn't work when at 60 degrees the room was still very warm, the microwave didn't work, there was Kleenex stuck up between the ceiling tiles in the bathroom, no exhaust Dan in bathroom and the lights didn't work when we entered the room. We checked in late after 1 a.m. Upon checking out we were,assured the manager would call us that never happened. Taking my initial review from 3 to 2 stars.

I live in NYC, but I stayed here for a few nights while working for a National Broadway Tour. I was so pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the place was. We felt very taken care of. The manager, Nancy, went out of her way to take care of us in any way she could. She also came to see the show a few times! If you are traveling and staying in Flint, STAY HERE, if for nothing other than getting to chat with Nancy!

Look, there aren't a lot of choices in Flint. This is probably the best you'll find in the city. It's clean, safe and provides free bottled water. I was initially given wrong WiFi password, but was rectified with a call. It's quite aged and could do with a major upgrade. On national standards, it's barely acceptable, but for Flint it's a solid place to stay at a good price.

It was a nice hotel and a great location for what we were doing. They had plenty of bottled water available. They also had a good breakfast in the morning. Staff was pleasant and helpful. I would stay here again.
