Was there for a social event. Staff was very good. Presentation worked as planned. The buffet food was fine, not great but very acceptable for an event like this.
Great staff plus great caring people! We absolutely loved Tom our shuttle guy. His driving is wonderful, he talks to the passengers and truly cares how their family members are who are in the hospital. Thanks Tom for making such a difficult time in our lives a little more easier. Your the best!
Took more than expected time before someone showed up at front desk. Way to parking is very awkward. No clear signs to guide you. Room is clean but toilet seat lid would not stay at its place, keeps falling. Hoping no more disappointments show up for the rest of the stay. If parking situation can be fixed, will be a lot better. For the price, it’s not bad otherwise.
Nice hotel. Great location ! But try not to get the rooms that face inward towards the middle of the hotel or you will be overlooking the open indoor pool, tables, restaurant. Can be noisy if a family decides to swim right outside your girl door. Just an odd layout. The buffet is well priced for all the hot and cold items available.
The staff is very very nice and helpful including maintenance, but the rooms are prettttty beat up. The Lobby looks good but the rooms, not so much. I stay at hotels for work regularly and this is the most in need of updating holiday inn I've stayed at. It desperately needs updating and fixing up. Room windows look into the hotel lobby not outside. The elevators could be from the 1800 's if I took a wild guess. Just everything looks very tired to me. Bath tubs, molding, doors everything looks in need of a re do very badly. The toilet took 3 flushes to flush properly (no exaggeration). Tried 10 times. 3 flushes was the trick. I read this same thing in another review. The outlets are crumbling out of the walls, floors look dirty etc. I stay here because of their connection to Dana farber and children's hospital but if not for that, I would not be back. Again this is NOT a reflection of the staff at the hotel. They are all great.
Very poor quality rooms. Fixtures pulled out of the drywall, sink held up by a piece of lumber, AC was broken, etc. Layout of the hotel is awful- all the window look out into hallways, the building is very long and you must walk a city block to get to your room. Credit card system was down, so I had to fill everything out by hand. I received the wrong bill the morning of checkout. Fire alarm went off in the morning. This hotel feels like bargain basement but charges you like a 4 star. Avoid.
I enjoyed the stay, overall. The whole building was elegant, they had great breakfast foods, and the staff were all friendly. The room we happened to get smelled of sulfur, but we notified the front desk and sent someone to check if something was wrong with the air conditioner.
This hotel was not worth the price. Parking is a joke, it doesn't work half the time, and locks you in the garage for 15 minutes until they finally slowly walk down to open the gate. Not to mention they charge $38 per night for this terrible service, then they try to double charge you for the parking if you are not careful, by charging to your room number and at the gate. Rooms are terribly small and horribly outdated. They seem fairly clean for a 20 year old hotel room at best. There really isn't anything great within walking distance (like most other hotels I've stayed at within this price range). I would not recommend this hotel.
The front desk people were very nice and helpful. The rooms were dated feeling but seemed decently maintained. Our room window overlooked the restaurant and another hallway, so it was a little disconcerting seeing people walk by our window. However we couldn't hear the restaurant at all, so that was good.
We stayed two nights and our room was barely cleaned in-between. The staff tossed some towels on the bathroom floor during cleaning and never moved them so we had to actually clean up after they cleaned.
There is no free small breakfast offered in the mornings like every other Holiday Inn we've stayed in which stinks because the rooms are not cheap plus you have to pay for parking as well. Just a lot of add ons we didn't see at other properties.
We would probably stay there again because we liked the neighborhood and it was convenient to the T, but it's definitely been our least favorite Holiday Inn so far this trip (out of 5).
Very clean, reasonable rates, and friendly staff. Aside from the hotel being on point, the staff really made this place. Everyone greeted us with a smile. There was a mix up on our complimentary breakfast and the manager Joe was quick to fix it and apologized for any inconveniences. All of the staff went out of their ways to accommodate any needs that we had. We requested a microwave for our room and it was there in 20 minutes with no additional charges. The train station is just a walk away. They have a pool, hot tub, fitness center, bar, and excellent restaurant. I highly recommend this hotel.
I was here on a business trip and did not have a choice in hotels. I stayed here a total of two weeks and i will never stay in a holiday inn again. The first week my AC broke, the water was lukewarm at best, the pool was closed. The second week, they overbooked the hotel (never ever ever heard of this) shipped me to courtyard (fabulous) then i came back the next day. they put my in a suite for my troubles.. great set up, actually had a window to the outside rather than the just the courtyard. woke up with bug bites all over my body. my coworkers saw mice, a leech-like squirmy worm thing, and we drew the line. the woman at the front could not be nicer (Ellise?). for the price we are paying we should have (at least) free breakfast
This was a very unusual hotel. The location was good, in a nice beautiful neighborhood with many places to eat nearby and easy access to and from downtown on the Green Line C train. Our room was an average size with comfortable beds and clean bathroom with good shower. Or TV remote was broken, but we called and maintenance came right away and fixed it. The maintenance worker was very pleasant and friendly to us. The thermostat in the room seemed like it worked opposite to what you wanted. When the room was cold it said it was 74 inside and turning the temp down might cause the heat to come on. While our room had a view of the outside and the neighborhood, very few rooms seemed to have a view. Many had a view of the interior atrium. The atrium did not have skylights and only had windows on the two ends so those rooms facing in had no view or even any natural light. The pool was in the atrium, out in the open, not in its own room, which I thought was odd. It looked like most of the outside facing rooms faced a hallway with windows that looked out to the street. Maybe good for noise, but was a strange setup. All the banquet rooms were in the basement and had no view outside. If I had one of the interior facing rooms or even one of the exterior hall rooms, I would be very disappointed with what I got for the price. Parking was good, but expensive. Staff were very friendly.
Very happy with this hotel. It's directly across from the "T" and a really great Sushi place. If you're like me and like to explore the local area while filling up your fridge for a week away, there is a Trader Joe's two blocks up and a Whole Foods the other way. Room was very clean and spacious. Parking was expensive, but it's Boston
We stayed for about 5 hours attending a social event. The installations were very good and clean. Men's bathroom was clean and everything was working fine. Women's, on the other hand, had an out of order toilet and no toilet paper with no one in sight to ask for help during Coffee break time. The sound was great and it was a pleasant stay.
The front desk forgot to activate my key cards. Also, I called down to the front desk to let them know that I was not getting any network stations, (NBC, CBS, FOX, ABC) they said that they were going to send up an engineer.. No one ever showed up. I went down to the front desk a few hours later, I was going to dinner, and they said they would again send someone up. When I got back, the channels still didn't work. Again, I called down and they sent someone up, he did not do anything and said that he would need to call the cable company. Later, I took the cable out of the TV, straightened the cable, inserted it back into the TV, tightened it andproblem solved. But, the bed is super comfy.
