Room was acceptable. There wasn't enough lighting in the room and light switches were confusing. Ironically my favorite part was the motion light under bed side table that turned on when you got out of bed - which made middle of the night bathroom trip easier. The bathroom was quite small and the shower was below standard. It was hard to set and maintain temperature. There was low pressure.
The hotel is located in Cambridge, MA along the Charles River. The view from Riverside rooms is lovely. The river in the foreground and Boston in the background. The Museum of Science, TD Garden arena, plus more (shopping mall, restaurants) range from across the street to across the river. (About a $12 cab ride if you luck out with traffic). The rooms were clean and a good size. Comfortable for 2 people. There is room service, restaurants, valet parking, and concierge service. The staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. The hotel was an amazing stay for the weekend and perfect for those going to see the Bruins play at home. The only downside is parking is not free. It is provided at the hotel but for the weekend, it costed us $90.
We tried Royal Sonesta because they allow dogs to stay overnight for a fee. We wanted to enjoy a long weekend in Boston and needed to bring our dog. We were given a room with two queen beds and a beautiful view of Charles River. We were walking distance from the Museum of Science and many other locations. We were able to walk to the meet-up spot for our duck tour. The hotel staff was so friendly. They have a small coffee shop with great coffee and breakfast sandwiches. They have a restaurant too, but we didn't try it. All in all, we slept great. The room was very clean and had a convenient small fridge. I'd stay here again and I'd recommend it to anyone staying in Boston.
It was a good hotel, it was close to where we needed to be. Lots of amenities available at the hotel. We really enjoyed the coffee shop in the morning they have the best egg sandwiches. It was clean and the service was great.
Nice bedrooms. Good bar. Terrible service, particularly the clerks at the lobby. They are so focused in security that they fail to provide basic daily services to the guests. Something does not work properly there.
The Royal Sonesta offers comfortable rooms right along the river in Cambridge. Many of the rooms offer great views over the river and Boston. The rooms are small, but clean, tidy, and modern. Most importantly the beds and bathrooms are great and comfortable. The common areas are also nice with a little lobby area for working and a large outdoor patio with food and drinks. If your destination is Cambridge or even Boston, it’s the perfect place to stay as both are a fairly short walk away.
The accommodations were very good. I stayed overnight for a company party, and they had very spacious rooms, complete with a small living room area where someone could invite friends back to their room for TV, drinks or conversation. There were no purchasable drinks in the mini-fridge, but that is fine because I would have brought my own anyway. It's also a very good location just outside the busier areas of Boston. Traffic around the hotel is quite manageable.
The hotel has great views as it sits right next to the water. The event space was very professional and the staff handled the 400 person event without any hiccups. Overall the hotel looked very clean and had nice facilities including parking. I would recommend the hotel for hosting a work related event in their halls.
I had my senior class banquet there, and overall everything was good. Only thing I could complain about would be how hot it got there, especially on the dancefloor with lots of students dancing. A nice breeze would have been great, but otherwise the food was great and so was the service.
Great staff. Bathroom is amazing -sit down shower is perfect during/after a drunken night. Location is good also. There's a mall right across the street.
Made Mother's Day reservations for lunch at Art Bar. When we arrived we were presented with a menu for a $50 prix fix menu. No other menu was available, and literally nothing appealed to my 19 year old son, who typically is an adventurous water. We ended up leaving instead of eating lunch. I wish when they called to confirm the reservation that I had been advised about the cost and limited menu.
Fine hotel. One of the best 3 star hotels I ever stayed in. Very clean, good housekeeping and nice restaurants. Mall at few 100 feet for shopping and awesome restaurants in vicinity.
I paid for a room with a view of the river and I got a tremendous view. I don't know if I got lucky or if that's what all rooms with a view are like. But I have 2 full walls of window overlooking the river. It's about 30 feet of amazing views of the city. Other than the views everything else is very nice. Very clean, very modern. I only have 3 gripes. There are 2 other doors right outside mine and they close very loudly. It's winter so the older heater is constantly on and fairly loud. And finally, again, it's winter and the floor of the bathroom is FREEZING. I tried closing the door to let the heater warm it up but no dice. I just put a few towels down and I was fine
