The resort has been an enjoyable and relaxing experience this far. I will be honest and say there were some issues with the rooms, but they hotel rectified the situation and we are all pretty happy. The pool is beautiful, open for large portions of the day, and the hot tubs are great for the cool mornings and evenings. Great place to stay. Only issue is required $38 parking fee not included in the required resort fee. It is not cool. Just because you advertise it, doesn't mean that it's okay. Please change this.
Planned on happy hour at Olive but got there late so decided to order dinner at restaurant. The view is spectacular. Heat lamps kept me from getting chilly. Server was very knowledgeable, funny and attentive. Food was delicious. Had the chicken because I wanted the polenta which did not disappoint. Lovely dinner.
If you are looking for a luxury and/or clean hotel, this hotel is not for you. Hotel is very old and in need of an update. I bought my family on a vacation trip to San Diego and picked this hotel because I thought it would be a "resort: but for the price of almost $200 per night plus "resort fees" and $40 for overnight parking , you can do better than stay at this hotel. Walking into our room, it smelt like it had mold/mildew and I had to ask someone to come vacuum the room because the carpet looked like it wasn't vacuumed. The toilet seat had rust on it and even though, the doors were closed, there were mosquitoes flying throughout the night. My wife, child and I had a very uncomfortable night sleep as we couldn't sleep . Needless to say I checked out of the hotel the next day. You can find better and cheaper hotels in downtown San Diego compared to this. I won't recommend this hotel
After the first visit my husband and I decided we wanted to have our wedding here. Maribel the coordinator was so helpful planning everything for the wedding over email and it all ran smooth once we got there. Ron the manager of the restaurant was so kind. The dinner they set up was beautiful and food was amazing. The service was great! Really relaxing place can't wait to go back.
Excellent hotel! It was our first time to San Diego and this hotel and staff went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Mr. Berry at the concierge desk was fabulous! We enjoyed everything from the pool area to the restaurant to the comfy beds. The only thing I wish they would have had was better coffee and maybe a shuttle to the airport. We will be back!
The 5 days we stayed here have been amazing. From the front desk to the restaurant the service is outstanding. April at the front desk is extremely accommodating and always has a smile on her face. Gregory whom is the face of concierge is bubbly and goes above and beyond. Morgan and Luis at the restaurant always new what we wanted. I highly recommend this hotel and you Will NOT be disappointed!
I visited as part of a scouting trip for a big event I am going to host in San Diego, so I got a tour of the property from their sales manager and someone with the San Diego tourism department. The Hilton is a great looking resort with a fun, family-accomodating feel. It has several upscale dining options on-site, and is within a 5-minute drive of many other cheaper food options. There's a free shuttle to Sea World, an on-site water recreation rental place, and a beautiful seaside multi-use path running between the property and the beach. My room had a fantastic view of the beach and bay, with a ample opportunity to sit back and enjoy the sunset. You could easily spend your entire family vacation on-site and not regret it at all.
The rooms and hotel were really nice and well maintained. Beautiful view of the bay nearby, but not walking distance to any local attractions. Make sure you have a car to get to any nearby restaurants or theme parks!
Not a huge resort, but plenty of things to entertain. The rooms are huge! Food was excellent. All of the staff were very courteous. I would recommend it.
It's a beautiful resort and on a lovely beach that has a gorgeous path. The hotel is nice and comfortable. The staff is exceptionally friendly. I do recommend it. But you are away from the action of San Diego, so it's useful to have a car.
We enjoyed everything about our stay here, with one exception (discussed below). This is a place to relax and we began to do so as soon as we entered the property, which is nicely removed from the hustle and bustle so prevalent in most of San Diego County. This is not an oceanfront property, but the ocean is only about four miles away, as is the town of Del Mar, which has some nice shops and restaurants worth exploring. Access to La Jolla and San Diego is easy.
The room and staff were exceptional in terms of cleanliness and customer service. As a visitor, the staff helped with great suggestions with what to do in San Diego. The room was always well kept and they were accomodating with whatever we needed. The location is the best part about the place. It's located along the bay and has direct walking access to the public park along the beach. The view is beautiful!
