Older hotel (probably wasn't originally a Holiday Inn Express). Not modern by any standard but still clean and comfortable. Breakfast was basic but ample.

This was the definition of fleabag motel. Complete with bugs in the room, funky odors, and women's hair in between the sheets. There was also a number of homeless individuals sharing the parking lot which both made me feel bad for them and worry about what might get stolen from my car during the night.

Friendly staff. Quite place, and it's near the freeway. Little "gym" for your morning exercises. Swimming pool. Restaurants around for a quick bite.

This inn was rather outdated, all the amenities were old. When we got to our room it looked like the sheets were never changed from the last guest because we found sunflower seed husks under the blanket, which was really irritating when it's late and we were ready to just settle in for the night. I would not recommend this particular Holiday Inn, Escondido.

Staff is super friendly and helpful but that does not make up for the dated decor. You can tell they are trying, keeping things clean and touched up but the place needs a renovation. Breakfast is almost non-existent, microwave pancakes and burritos like from a gas station, really a let down. That said it's probably the nicest place in downtown Escondido. I gave it two stars over one because of the helpful staff and the in and out Burger located directly next door.

Clean rooms and friendly staff. The room was dated but surprisingly clean. We got a suite for around $140 in April. There is a pool and a hot tub outside, lots of kids during the day but quiet at night. It's close to the highway a d there are tons of places to eat close to the hotel. Biggest downside was the hallways seemed to have a smell from time to time. Nice Keurig coffee maker and good shower, also temp control in the room was good

Nice hotel, received a complementary upgrade to a suite which was great for our three kids. A little hot and humid inside. Breakfast area was being renovated and the backup room was cramped.

I paid about $117 plus tax for this room. The previous night we stayed in a Holiday Inn Express in Beaumont CA. This hotel's rooms were small, especially compared to the Beaumont hotel. The hotel feels kind of old and outdated. I expected more for this price. This hotel is no better than a Super 8, which is $25 cheaper. The breakfast was good. The hotel is located next to 3 restaurants and a shopping center. If I needed a room here again in the future, I would try the Comfort Inn located adjacent to this hotel. The Comfort Inn is also somewhat old, but it has very nice landscaping and palm trees, giving it a nice appearance . versus the Holiday Inn Express is at the back end of a sprawling commercial complex, not visible from the highway, and there is nothing attractive about the site.

My wife and I were going to Valley View Casino. We decided to spend the night at this Holiday Inn Express. It is only a fifteen minute drive to the casino. It is an older hotel, but the rooms are clean and the bed was comfortable. Front desk staff were really nice and they upgraded us to a suite. The room we stayed in had a microwave and fridge in a wet bar area. The furniture was dated, but the suite had plenty of room and was great for the price that we paid. Will definitely stay here again when we are in the area.
