I went to Cafe Sierra on Saturday December 23rd. It was pretty good, but the lines were just so long for food. I waited over twenty minutes just for a tuna roll. There seems to be less food variety now compared to how it was before the remodel. For the price, I expected better.
Expected more from a 4 diamond hotel. The rooms are worn. Everything is top pricing. Valet $40 plus taxes a night. Location to universal however was great. No hot water took lukewarm showers both days. Room service was decent. Front desk the lady was OK not very warm. Expected better to be honest .peeling sinks and tubpeeling wall paperbroken tiles .tile baseboards need to be cleaned. Looked like previous leaks on the ceiling. Could hear the freeway.
Rooms are great (king corner room with Universal view and suite)had opportunity to stay in these rooms and make u feel like a king. The staff is amazing and help you with every little issue. (Just to let u know there is a $28 fee to self park and $40 for valet per night extra) there is no spa on the premises. There is a beautiful pool. Other than that you are a 5 min walk to Universal studios. We had a wonderful time! Thank You!
Love this hotel! Clean, modern with great views of the valley and Universal Studios. Friendly staff, good food. Excellent place for a meeting as well. Love the corner rooms. Very spacious and homey.
Attended a conference here. Great location for professional events. Good ballrooms - clean. Bathrooms well kept. We were provided breakfast and lunch and Hilton delivered good quality catering.
The staff were very helpful and warm and welcoming. We were greeted when we checked in and it was fast and easy. The room was spacious and comfortable. It was a bit dimly lit with lamps spaced out and I didn't particularly like that you couldn't remove/turn off the illuminated light switch by the bathroom. There was foundation (makeup) on the bathroom door handle and on 2 of the bath towels. Staff took steps to get us what we needed but it was a little disappointing to be recieved by that type of cleanliness. For the price we paid, I expected better cleanliness standards. The view was nice. The proximity to Universal Studios was pretty good (wish there were doors closer to the overhead walkway). I never saw a shuttle near the hotel. We saw it near Universal though. The staff was super helpful and did everything possible to make our stay pleasant and comfortable.
I was only here for a birthday party dinner for around three hours. We had a Chinese food catered, and was actually very good - exceeded expectations. The staff were very attentive and friendly, however one seemed kind of new, since he was somewhat clumsy serving some of our dishes. The facility was very clean and was nice overall.
My husband and I vacationed here last week. What a tremedous first class hotel! Our experience was well over & above our expectations. First, we were greeted warmly by the staff and upgraded to a fantastic room. The room was spacious and exceptionally clean. The bed / pillows were extremely comfortable, and the view of the city was phenomenal. The grounds were well maintained with plenty of seating in quiet alcoves for relaxing and the over-all scenery was beautiful.
The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel special - remembering our preferences and sharing jokes with us - treating us more as friends than simply guests of the hotel. The food was good and we highly recommend the Happy Hour. The concierge was especially knowledgeable and helpful - we followed all of his suggestions & had a wonderful time at Universal Park and touring the city.
We highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants an exceptional vacation.
Was my first stay at a Hilton Hotel and it was very nice and clean. We had a small problem with our room as we didn't notice it was a handicap accessible room for which we didn't need. We went to the front desk and they changed it for us with no problem at all. We checked out around 10:30 in the morning and didn't have any problems with checkout. All in all it was a very nice stay and really close to Universal Studios(the reason for our visit). We will definitely stay at a Hilton Hotel in the future.
Love the closeness to universal! Being so close to the hotel made things much better after a long day at the park. The digital key worked great! The elevators are fast and plentiful. The rooms are very clean and the view from a high floor is awesome.
Went to a wedding at the Hilton. The ceremony took place outside in front of the ballroom building. It was on the sunny side. To avoid a blinding glare, try to schedule any outdoor events not to coincide with sunset. The eating and dancing was in the spacious ballroom. There was a nice wooden dance floor under pretty lights. The service was excellent. The staff was pleasant. Unattended dirty plates disappeared before anyone would dare to call them forgotten-about. The tap water in the bathroom felt thick and its color was milky and not perfectly clear. Over all, the Universal Hilton seems to be a great place to have a wedding.
Went to the Sunday Buffett at the Hilton Universal. Hands down, this was the best buffet I've ever been to in LA, in Vegas, in any city. The service is impeccable. Your coffee, orange juice, water, champagne, whatever is refilled before you have to ask. The food is amazing and fresh. When they say there's 3 kinds of crab legs, they mean it! Huge crab legs, prime rib, waffles made to order, sushi made to order, desserts of all kinds. There are almost too many choices. Bonus: parking was super easy and you get a discount for having eaten at the buffet. Highly recommend for visitors to LA and for those of us who live here. Treat yourself!
Stayed at this hotel to visit Universal Studios. Service staff here was very accommodating. I'm allergic to down and when I informed housekeeping they very quickly changed my pillows and duvet. The bell hop was very nice and informative. And the front desk clerk was very understanding. I will definitely be returning to this hotel in the future.
The Sea Food buffet was really great. I was there some time last year 2016 and apparently they remodeled it. Gotta say the original look was a bit more classy. Now it just looks more modern. Overall nice experience. Eventually I'd like to try and stay the weekend there and see how the actual hotels sleeping/night life is.
