Summerfest is the largest music festival in the world. They have many other festivals throughout the year at this same location. If you want to find something to do during the summer on a weekend this is the place to check first. You will always have a good time here.
Home of SUMMERFEST!!! The greatest music and food festival in the world. Occurs around 4th of July. Dozens of local and national bands, great food from across the spectrum. Some hardliners are A-list national tours. Can't be missed if you are in Milwaukee! Come/go and go hungry! Also home of numerous ethnic festivals with ethnic bands and food. TOO COOL!
We were there for German fest with extended family from Texas and Colorado. We had a great time, the music, food, costumes, and dancing really made a hit. They said they will try to make it back for other festivals.
Milwaukee celebrates their heritage at this waterfront park. Their Polish Fest and Irish Fest were the ones I saw this summer. Food and music and plenty of shopping opportunities at both. The only thing I wished for that they didn't provide was staff dressed in traditional costume.
Many vendors had no idea how to prepare for the volume of people that would show up at an event like this. The lines were long which is understandable however a majority of the food was sub-par. If I'm going to stand in a line and wait 45 minutes for a sandwich or some ribs or brisket and so on,and pay damn good money for it I expect it to be delicious. Every place that we went had over cooked brisket ribs ,pulled pork it was all dried out and horrible you shouldn't have to add a ton of barbecue sauce just to make something edible because it's so damn dry. There was one exception which was the iron grate, their food was delicious moist flavorful!
Great park by the lake. Easy to get food and go sit on the rocks and look over the lake. Nice wide walking paths, have no problem crowd dodging when it's busy. Lots of great stages here and lots of memories with them. Good distribution of food vendors all up and down the park.
Large venue, plenty of parking, beautiful view of the Lake, paved walkways. We attended the Mexican Fiesta. They had a busy schedule of great music, with dancers walking around in gorgeous make up and hand done exquisite dresses. The food was delicious.
Just happened to be in town for another event while Summerfest was going on. Tickets were a fair price, beers and food were also priced fairly as well. Impressed that they were not trying to gouge you for a beer for you and drink and food for your kid.
The best part was the chair lift that went over the entire park, need a 20-25 minute break from your kids. Spend the $8 bucks and send them on a ride around the park. Hopefully we will be back again another day.
Indian Summer Festival. Beautiful Native Powwow every September. Good food. Live music! OF COURSE THE DANCERS
Great park that is well maintained! Love coming to PetFest and Summerfest here!
Excellent concert venue with great views of the city and lake. Bathrooms are surprisingly decent. There are multiple stages but everything is pretty flat so getting around on crutches or in a boot isn't bad (I would know!)
We don't come here much besides coming for Summerfest but when we do, we have a good time. For the most part, it's a clean place.
I've attended Summerfest every year of my life (30). In the past 5 years, the improvements to the grounds have been remarkable. The Summerfest grounds are well designed and well maintained. I would challenge you to find another place in the country that can hold 100,000+ and have as efficient of restrooms as this place.
