It's a small cheese shop, but it showcases the many varieties of cheese made here, rather than being an all encompassing reseller of everyone else's cheese and knickknacks.

As alluded to by other reviewers, you can observe the various cheese making activities on the factory floor through large windows from the store area.

As for the cheese, it's great stuff!

Uncredibly rude and unhelpful staff. However, the filtration system was neat and cheese good.

Small cheese shop with a limited selection, but very friendly staff and fun to see them making cheese if you time your visit right!

We' were on a family vacation in the Wisconsin Dells. Looked online to find a place where we could see cheese being produced.

Would recommend if you are interested in visiting a cheese factory, you should go early in the morning, around 8 AM or 9 AM.

Most cheese producing happens overnight / early morning.

Called a few places around 10:30 AM and found out they were not producing cheese.

Called Cedar Grove and was told they were running late and would still be processing cheese until Noon.

Arrived around 11 AM and Cathy gave us a tour. Since cheese environments need to be very sterile, the tour is done behind glass.

Cathy was very informative and did an excellent job providing information about how they process the milk when it comes off the truck and through the various steps that it eventually becomes a block of cheese.

She explain the different types of cultures that are used to make the curd and whey.

The whey is a waste product that gets used to produce powered protein for body building.

She explained the differences between swiss, mozzarella, cheddar, white cheddar,, etc.

She provided background on the different types of animal milks processed there Water Buffalo, Sheep, Goat, and of course Cow!!!

She talked about the different breeds, food sources (alfalfa, wheat, corn, etc.), and the effect they have on the taste of the milk/cheese.

Cathy shared a wealth of information and provided an excellent, informative tour.

Ask for Cathy if you go!!!

We purchased a variety of cheeses at the end Weird Sisters was one that had Water buffalo and cow It tasted great!

    Would highly recommend going!

It is a way off the beaten path, but the scenery is beautiful along the way and the cheese at the end of the journey is worth it.

Neat cheese factory. There is a viewing window.
The shop has a nice variety of their cow, sheep and goat milk cheeses.
Can also purchase their products at Clocktower cheese in MWE.
