One of the few campgrounds in the area that wasn't totally devastated by pine beetle. Good lake access. Close to bike trails.

Always a beautiful campground. Great places to hike with perfect views. All of the camping spots are very nice and pretty. They're spaced apart and you're not right on top of one another. Some have lantern hooks and grills, but not all. Though I didn't try this time, I heard from several people that fishing was great and had a bite nearly every time they threw out their line. Overall great visit!

The Heaton Bay Campground is a really beautiful place to camp. They have both tent only camping spots as well as RV camping areas.

Beautiful and clean campground with beautiful views. Very close to the lake/ Friendly and helpful staff. Close proximity to Safeway and Walmart (less than 5 min) if you happen to forget food to cook for breakfast, like we did, but maintains a true sense of seclusion from civilization. We will be back next year.

Mediocre at best. Not enough bathrooms and no running water. Would of loved to wash hands, face, teeth ect. Not a ton of privacy and so dusty.

The majestic peaks get high ratings, the bike trails get high ratings, and the easy access to Dillon & Frisco get good ratings but the traffic noise and lack of adequate number of hosts only rate it a 2 stars.

Great campground, great location. You can bike to Dillon, Frisco, and Breckenridge. The bathrooms were very clean. There is not a bad site in the entire campground.

I walk through this campground while hiking the other weekend. It looks like a great campground spot. There are restrooms that are clean, you could tent camp or bring in an RV at some locations. You need to reserve your spot ahead of time. The views are great. You can choose between a waterfront view, an area in the woods, and an area by the hiking trails. A lot of the camping spots come with their own picnic tables, too.

Beautiful campground with great views from every site and convenient location not far off the highway but you do not hear any highway noise. Some sites are very close to each other but there are lots that are spaced out well. Camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. You can buy firewood from their site for $7 a bundle. Reservation online was easy and lets you pick your location, make sure to look at it on google maps so you can get one with some elbow room. Bathrooms are pit toilets with no running water but they are very clean.
