Having read some of the reviews, I was a little concerned about taking my pet here but let me tell you our experience was great. I think that once people realize that this is a low cost, walk -in clinic for immunizations and that the staff are there for your pet, there is a better understanding. We took our dog there to be spayed and they were both professional and efficient. They treated Hollie very well and she is a big baby. I would definitely recommend and would return again!
Indian vet's attitude is cold. Even though prices are affordable, your animal is in danger when spayed. Even though intramuscular or intravenous meds are used, general anesthesia is not used where animals are intubated. To say that the animals are monitored closely is an understatement. At the same time the pain med dose verbally and handwritten given to me on an 8 pound dog would have been fatal if given Fortunately, being an RN gives me more insight into proper dosage. However, when I called to question them I was told something totally different than the day if surgery. Yet, the dose and frequency was different on the so-called medical/surgical record.
I had to take my animal to my personal vet. According to Heartsong, the response is normal. However, that was not the case.
According to documentation, if it is not documented, it has not been done. Their so-called documentation was inadequate. As a nurse, had I documented as poorly as this clinic, my supervisor would have reprimanded me. Also, had I not caught them in the process, the staff was about to use liquid paper to cover up an error on a legal record. The proper way to correct an error is to draw a single line through the error, initial and date. Only when I said something, another staff member corrected the other staff member.
I even contacted UGA school of Veterinary Medicine. UGA stated that doing spaying without general anesthesia and intubation is not a safe practice and they do not teach that.
This clinic states that the doctor is quick and the procedure only takes 20 minutes. That is a sorry explanation.
This facility did not put the safety of my animal as paramount. Even though the cost is low, the safety to one's animal is just as low.
One of this clinic's competitors name not to be mentioned uses general anesthesia with intubation and proper machines to monitor the pets during surgery and post operatively. Humans are not treated this inhumane.
I even called the day after my pet's surgery to speak with the vet. However, either the vet did not get the message and if she did, I never received a phone call. What I needed to discuss with the vet was not something an office staff member could answer.
It does not good to complain to this business because nothing will change.
Had I been made aware of all the inadequacies before the procedure, I would never have left my animal. However, they do not tell you as a parent of your animals the real facts.
If you want to take the risk of having your pet spayed or neutered, it will be your choice. God bless you.
This is by far the worst clinic that I've ever been to. Not only is this place filthy, there were a ton of used needles on the counter. I really hope they weren't being reused. The vet is a small Indian guy who doesn't care about the animals. He told me I waited a week too long to return for the vaccines and that I would need to start the process all over again and return 3 more times. I sensed he was scheming so I took my kitty to a real veterinarian who said my cat was up to date with his shots. The Management needs to clean up or close down for the sake of the animals.
I have a hard to deal with Rottie. He is my baby, but a handful. Heartsong is the only place that is not afraid of my dog. They treat him with kindness, (and treats when needed ) and have been his sole care giver since 2014. I know they are not a full service clinic, but so far he has been so healthy I have not had to take him anywhere else. Keep up the good work! And the best prices around!
Horrible experience ever. Nasty, stinky and dirty!! Took my rescue dog for shots and heartworm check for the first time. Never ran labs to ensure that my dog was strong enough for any treatment. The Dvm did listen to my dogs heart and say he was healthy and his heart was strong. They said he tested positive for heartworms. Cost almost $500. The vet prescribed oral doxycycline treatment only for heartworm treatment and multiadvantage. After my dog finished the 30 day supply of doxycycline, he was still vomiting and coughing. I went back to the vet. He could hardly speak English and said a bunch of nothing!!! The Dvm said that the doxycyline and multiadvantage would cure my dog of any and all heartworms. Found out later that wasn't true! The staff were rude and busy trying to get my debit card to charge me for the purchase. I was confused because they were not helpful. The vet and female staff were rude if you had questions. I was told that I needed to bring him back in six months for a follow up check for heartworms. They never gave my dog the full treatment for heartworms. The injections were supposed to be given to kill the heartworms. Doxycyxline isn't a cure for heartworms. The doctor claimed that the doxycycline treatment and multiadvantage treatment was all he needed. He said that he injections were too hard on dogs and they die!! Well,
My dog never got the injections that the vet was supposed to give!! He stopped eating. I called the vet once again and the rude technician growled at me telling me that they weren't a full service vet and take him to one. I didn't know this. Before I could get my dog to a real vet, he died!!i am so depressed and sad that I took my dog to this place. Not to mention the place smells awful and is filthy!! Don't ever take your dog there..
DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!!!! IF YOU LOVE THEM DO NOT TAKE YOUR FUR BABIES!!!! So why?
1- when we got there and opened the doors it smelt like animal pee that has not been clean in awhile, how i can tell? IF YOU HAVE HAD A NON POTTY TRAINED PUPPY OR CAT WITH CHEAP LITTER THEN YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND
2-WAITING AREA SMALL!!!! And takes forever to get your sick dog/cat in with the doctor!!!
3-The front desk with only one person that would leave with 5 people still waiting
4- I still want to see a certified certificate
5-My dog went and had her yearly shots, SHE GOT A FEVER AND BECAME VERY SICK AFTER THAT.
6-Very suspicious
7- NO WONDER THEY HAVE CHEAP SHOTS, etc
8- I was just terrified of what they were going to do to my puppy
9- Okay so you know how most vet rooms are maybe like a medium size bedroom well, when i say it was small it was SMALL about the size of a bathroom, not the BIG MASTER BATH, more like your tiny hall way bathroom
10- BTW (btw means by the way, I mean come on, not everyone knows this) I think they got a F in inspection, I mean the roof is leaking, the walls that are white, aren't WHITE!!! Brownish Yellow stuff (idk what it is)
Thanks, hoped this was helpful
No issues with my experience. Had to bring in 2 dogs to get neutered. One was nervous and his butthole temperature was too high so had to reschedule. My dog Wolfie now has no balls and is currently wearing the cone all good soo far.
Really nice staff. Easy in and out for pets. They do boarding and vaccines. Good prices on meds.
Terrific option for low-cost veterinary services. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable!
HORRIBLE!!!!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!!!!! The staff is RUDE, my FEMALE DOG, WHO WAS IN HEAT, went in to be spayed. The "number" system that they use to check in, was horrible! Tiny waiting area FOR DOGS AND CATS! They had 1 lady working the desk. It literally took FOREVER to check in! Then, they took my dog back at around 8:15-8:30. We received the call to pick my dog up by 10:30-11 am. How she could have the procedure done so quickly, when there were dogs and cats ahead of her, I have NO CLUE! I googled how long a procedure would take for a dog in heat and it was anywhere between 20-90 minutes (LONGER IF A DOG IS IN HEAT)!!! When my husband picked her up, they didn't tell him ANY post treatment instructions, except that she could eat and drink as normal WRONG! She threw up all over my office ALL DAY LONG!! The cone that she is wearing, doesn't really help, because her back FEET can reach her incision! To make matters even worse, we had them check her ears, because she either had a yeast infection or mites. She ended up having an ear infection. We paid them for the anti-biotic, because they didn't have any in stock and said they would call us to have her come back in by today! Each time we have called regarding what has all been happening, they don't answer! They were quick to take my money though! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PLACE! My dog is still not the same and she went in 2 days ago! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!
I guess I should have listened to a few personal experience & knowlege of this place or even checked the reviews before taking my dog there. I was told at a pet store by one worker it's not the first time they've heard bad & this place is about the $$$. I took my dog there to get neutered, and when I pick him up I was told the basic after surgery care instructions. When I got him home I noticed that his incision looked open, but they told me that it would look a little open for drainage. I did not realize that it was already busted open, until a friend mentioned it. I would have thought I would have been shown the wound at the clinic, but I was met outside to put him in the truck. I was basically told that it was my fault for not keeping an eye on him from licking himself and his collar was too loose although they put the cone linked to his collar. I would think that a professional that takes care of animals would have tighten the collar upon noticing. So after paying for the neuter once, I then had to pay for it TWICE. I was encouraged to buy a bigger cone, in which I would have assumed they would have put the right size cone on him from the beginning. I am very unhappy with the way I was treated as it was my fault. It was busted from the time I got him home, the cone was obviously not the right size don't think that was my fault.
I took my dog to get her shots and everyone there was frantic and hurried. Not a good atmosphere for an anxious pet. Today I went to buy heartworm meds and they were closed at 12:45 although every sign said they were open until 1pm. Very unprofessional each time I've visited. The prices are cheap but you get what you pay for. I won't take my dog back there again.
Took both of my dogs there just for shots and the Vet was very rough with them and there was no one else waiting to be seen. I know it can be like that if busy but damn my one dog never cried when getting shot and today she did. The rest of the staff was very nice but I will not be bringing my babies back there.
