Heartland Health care has lost their qualified staff that they use to have. The physicians they currently have do not know what they are doing. I was in the ER twice and the physician they called on the phone in my room stated that I had the flu and told me to go home and rest. Two days later I was in the ER in Salina for the same symptoms and discovered I had a stroke previously. As I have told this story to others the general response is, "I've heard that about them before." It is NOT good when the reputation of this clinic is spreading and not in a good way. When you call this clinic to ask a question you get one answer and then when you show up you are told something completely different. If you value your health I highly recommend switching from this clinic immediately!! I have already switched to a clinic in Salina and the rest of my family has moved as well. Leave while you can before they actually manage to kill someone!!

I recieved compassionate care when I had a terrible migraine. The front staff and the nurses quickly worked together to get me in a dark quite room. Dr Holmes understood my ailment and did not make me feel like "a whimp" and carefully and quietly assessed me Thank you

I was misdiagnosed with type 2 diabetes at this clinic. They did a blood test, but it wasn't a fasting blood test, and was told I had a blood sugar count of 126. I had had a Monster energy drink just a couple of hours before my doctor visit because I had a long drive that morning before my appointment. They told me my blood sugar was just slightly high, and without an additional doctor visit, and no further testing, I was prescribed medication over the phone. The medication dropped my blood sugar so low that I couldn't get out of bed. I took the medication for 4 days before my husband and I figured out what the problem was. I stopped taking the medication and I was fine. I was shocked to get the diagnosis, as I have literally no symptoms of diabetes. Unfortunately, this is the only clinic in Abilene that takes my insurance, so I have to keep going even though I don't want to.
