I dialed a local number to request access to my safety deposit box bc the lobby is closed for COVID. I got corporate instead who listened to my needs and then “reached out” to the Odessa branch to “see if they can help.” Transferred to local branch Local employee tells me they can maybe accommodate my request, but she needs to forward it to corporate for approval.
Could take an hour or two
How about we make an appointment for tomorrow so I can come in and close my accounts. Using the COVID to complicate things and provide even worse customer service than normal is unacceptable. Bye

I have been with this bank since before they were NASB. Once they switched over they slowly stopped being a good bank. They have a tendency to change policies frequently. There are a lot of fees that get applied to your account. No account is free anymore. There is a small service fee. If you dip below 100 your account switches to a much larger permanent fee. Some customers received new cards due to a security issue however some people were not notified about the issue nor received a new card. I'll be leaving this bank shortly for a more stable and transparent bank. Upside? The place is extremely clean and some employees are pleasent on occasion. But that's about it.

I purchased my very first home on a handshake and a promise. Not very many people can say that nowadays, but this is truly one great bank. They know your name when you come in. If you have a problem, you can sit down with someone and they'll help you through it. I lost my job for 6 months and they worked something out for me to help me keep my home. They know me and knew that when I got back on my feet I would make it good with them and I did. I hope they never allow themselves to be swallowed up by the big banks. If they stay the way they are, they'll have my business until the day I die.
