  The home is well worth the tour. Many, many original pieces; beautiful architecture (be sure to notice the door hinges); wonderful docent (very knowledgeable). The grounds are lovely and many use them as walking paths. Did not visit museum. I understand there are concerts on the grounds on some Wednesdays. We missed that although there was croquet going on. Would recommend a visit.

  The museum had plenty of cool artifacts and some information, but it also tried to apologize for the president's many mistakes when it didn't whitewash them and at no point at all mentioned the very controversial 1876 election which is historically vital information. In the house our tour guide was sarcastic and rude, threatening physical violence against anyone who touched anything. The impression I got from the house itself (which did have many fancy artifacts) was that the Hayes family were disconnected from the non-elite.
  
  The lawn was pretty though, and they are deserving of inventing the presidential library; no small feat. Still worth visiting if you are really in to American History just keep the caveats in mind when touring the museum.
