Hawks Cay Resort is a beautiful place with plenty to do. It is located in a great spot surrounded by tons of Bluewater. The resort itself has a lot to do and plenty of boats to take you there. Unfortunately it's closed down due to damages from the hurricane but probably will open soon.

We had a great time. The staff was wonderful and the accommodations were very comfortable. Can't wait to go back. I highly recommend the Hawks Cay!

Great hotel and activities. They lack any real beach and not the most helpful on finding good local beaches.

Staff was amazing for our anniversary and took great care of my fiancee and our kids.

Awesome family vacation. We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo in Sunset Village. The staff is very friendly, food was great at Angler and Ale, the family pool stays open ALL NIGHT, and the parasailing was awesome! Reasonable grocery stores were within 20 minutes of the resort, which made meals and beach picnics easy. Highly recommend renting a car, but not a convertible in August! Too hot! Key West is about a 90 minute drive, so it's easy to fly directly into Key West (via Delta), car rental on sight. Wonderful laid back vacation for all.

Our pool was dirty/cloudy and they didn't send someone out to fix it until the day before we were left (5 days later). The SCUBA shop's boat was undergoing maintenance throughout our stay as well, so we ended up having to leave the resort to get our dives in, even though that was the reason for our stay. They offer golf cart rentals for a flat rate throughout your stay, but despite the resort being very vacant, they couldn't seem produce one until the day before we left, and even then it was at the same rate they had quoted us for all 6 days.

It's a nice place to stay and do your own thing outside of the resort, and the restaurant staff was really good across the board, but we probably won't be going back considering the many available options down there.

We are really pretty disappointed overall. We went in with high expectations based on the website and photos and some of the reviews. The service had moments of good, but the bad outweighed them. The resort has potential; however, they need more consistency at the front desk and at the pool. The lady that checked us in failed to mention there was an issue with the room size we reserved so they transferred us to one that did not include enough beds. We did not figure it out until after we got to the villa. She also failed to note our late check out, and gave us completely the wrong information about the cleaning frequency which turned out to be once every 4 days and there is no privacy sign. There is too much focus on kids in a place that serves that much alcohol. In fact they do a terrible job of managing the pool usage and capacity. But, the beach grill bartenders are amazing. They just do not have enough assistance at the other restaurants. Oh, the photos of the lagoon are BS. It is really just a giant, rocky bottom, dirt bowl filled with ocean water like urine. Quite disgusting actually. If there is anything alive in there you would never know as you cannot see anything. At the end of the day the place is only good for little kids as long as you bathe them every day and old drunks or loud, obnoxious, music blasting 20-somethings.

Peace and tranquility was all we wanted to celebrate our Anniversary, and we got just that. Each staff member we came across were polite and professional. The food was awesome, we only did room service which can become a little on the expensive side if you're doing it for each and every meal you eat. The room was clean and comfortable, they have multiple pools, in which the adult pool was my go to place, and they also have a man-made beach, in which I got in up to my knees and saw a big enough fish to make me second guess getting in, lol. But at the end of the day it was a very pleasant experience and we will bring the kids next time.

    Bring Bleach

One hour late on check in. The manager was unwilling to come out and address the issue. The check in staff just shrugged their shoulders.

The house was still not ready once key was given out. Maid's dragging brooms around sucking their teeth. Just nasty.
The house itself needed to be deep cleaned. The showers looked like a truck stop. Grout was black. Floors were stained.

Over crowded at the pool with trash floating in it. Trash cans over flowing around the pool. No cups available for the water dispensers. The kids club was run by inept staff.

All this at $550+ per night.

These issue fall under the responsibility of the general manager to run a resort that is clean and has trained and knowable staff. Hawks Cay is not that resort.

Hawks Cay does not give you the Key's experience.

We decided to come to this resort because they were autism friendly and we taught they could handled my son.

After inquiring in the morning about the possibility of taking my son to their camp, and explaining the situation; we decided to take him. As soon as we got there we noticed several things:

    1. They do not know and did not have the experience of how to handle a child with special needs.

    2. They prefer to call the parents instead of giving the child the opportunity of being part of the activities.

    3. The person who offered to watched him left and the following one did not know about him.

    4. The charged me the whole day, even after being told and offered to come back for a free session.

We need to included these children into their society even though it is hard form them. I will suggest more information and awareness of Autism is you are listed as autism friendly.

Had a great stay here and would definitely return. Stayed in a two bedroom townhouse, it was huge, plenty of space for everyone. Marathon is very close by so there's lots to do. Pool was virtually empty every night so we had it to ourselves which was awesome. The hot tub on our patio had cold water, that is my only complaint.

We spent a week with our boys ages 4 and 10 and stayed in the main hotel the resort was nice and the staff was wonderful our family enjoyed all the pools and the lagoon overall a very restful place. We did choose to eat off resort due to the restaurant prices, but good local places are within a 10 minute drive. Overall a great vacation!

Beautiful place! The Staff, couldn't say enough about the staff!!! Great people. We tipped everyone of them as they were so good to my wife & I.
It was the guests. This place is more for the wealthy than the hard working. My opinion. I am in sales and I just say hello to everyone, it's a habit! But I got return smiles or hellos maybe from 5-10% of the other guests. Every staff member replied with a smile, hello, and conversation. They looked out for us & had great digging. The Guests here, Rude. I noticed several talk negatively about staff, tip nothing & expect everything. Sad. I know they are not all rude, but most we tried to visit with were.
Maybe I should have researched more. Had I known it was such a "upper class" crowd here, I'd have went somewhere else.
Great property and great amenities, but it's really for the rich or wealthy or the people who want to 'fit in".
The staff won't let you down, but the guests will.

Amazing experience with my family! Management and staff were the best I have encountered in my travels. My family really enjoyed swimming with the dolphins, and relaxing near the lagoon. The view from my room was incredible. The food was delicious! 10 stars
