I’ve enjoyed both dinner and brunch here, both were fantastic. Harvest has a cute, cozy atmosphere and super tasty food. The cinnamon roll (with ham!) was a great way to kick off brunch and coffee. Definitely recommend visiting.
I just finished my 4th meal here over the course of several years and I’m perplexed my some of the negative comments. The atmosphere is restrained so if you’re looking to whoop it up, not for you. And yes, the portions are limited so if you need a feed bag experience you’d be best to make another choice. I was served creatively prepared delicious food with attentive but not pushy service. Dining this time by myself I was delighted by the large selection of 1/2 wine bottles and found one that was excellent.
Not cheap, but an exceptional meal nonetheless.
My wife and I went here for our anniversary. Our table wasn't ready so we were asked to sit at the bar. There was no bar tender but the wait staff was making all the drinks. I was a little surprised to see drinks being stirred with fingers, lime being smashed with fingers then the rind dropped into the drink, with no hand washing going on at all. We sat there for about 5 minutes before one of the staff that was running around acknowledged we were there and told us someone would be by to take our drink order soon. A few minutes later someone asked if we wanted anything to drink, and we ordered two different hot teas (found out later it was $6 per cup).
Before the tea arrived we were seated at our table (the one closest to the bathroom). One of the staff arrived and asked for our order. We ordered Scallops ($16) , Halibut ($36), and Beef Tenderloin (Medium - no red) (Prices and menu were different from what was listed online).
The teas arrived, the staff member delivering them spilled about 1/3 of each of the teas on the table while pouring them, didn't even acknowledge he had done it and put the tea pots on top of spills as if to hide them.
We were given a taste of something from the kitchen, I'm not sure what it was because I couldn't hear the person delivering it. It tasted pretty good, except it a burnt aftertaste from what I think was "toasted wild rice" (that is my best guess about what might have been said).
When the scallops appetizer arrived, it was just two scallops, and unfortunately they were rubbery.
Our food arrived, my halibut was about the size of two fish sticks, my wife's tenderloin, there isn't much else with it. The other things listed on the menu with the entree were just a taste, not a full serving of vegetables, it tasted pretty good.
My wife's tenderloin was another matter. Instead of it being cooked to a medium it was barely seared with the entire middle being very cold and raw. It was sent back and again asked to be a medium. It came back, along with an apology. Unfortunately, the tenderloin was still barely cooked to a rare (about 3/4 inch of red in the middle). We sent it back again.
After about 10 minutes I stopped someone and asked for our check. We were told that they would let our waiter know. The person who spilled the tea, and hadn't stopped by since then, showed up and I asked for the check. It arrived, and we were not charged for the tenderloin.
So, I paid the bill (close to $70) and we left, hungry and thirsty. No one had even offered to get more hot water for the tea.
We had high hopes based on all the reviews and information online. Unfortunately, our experience did not match with those reviews.
We ended up going around the corner to Sol's on the Square where we were able to get a good meal with very friendly staff for about $35.
Had a wonderful dinner starting with salad greens followed by the roasted chicken. It was a culinary delight. I completed the meal with delicious tangerine -ginger tea.
The service was excellent and very attentive.
Underwhelmed by the $30 Restaurant Week meal. Food was overcooked and service very slow.
Fancy food with acceptable portions. They serve the food for you to savor and appreciate the taste while providing you with the correct amount of food your body needs. Too many restaurants over portion and give you way too much food. At Harvest you can have a fabulous evening filled with intriguing tastes and legendary service.
Food was delicious, service was excellent restaurant week portions?
Excellent cuisine. Very attentive and professional service, knowing the chef by name including his specialities. The vegetable tray was to die for, with baby tempura asparagus.
We love Harvest and have been coming since the very beginning. It is classic American/French-inspired cuisine focusing on sustainable and organic foods. Everything made in-house. Beautiful presentation, gracious service and beautiful simple decor. It has always asked that people refrain from using their phones at the table and is an oasis in that regard (except when fellow diners violate!). We always feel special and treated even when we're not there for a special occasion.
Went for restaurant week. The food was amazing! I don't think they were used to being as busy as they were due to the special, so the service seemed a little scattered But the food was so good I will over look that.
Go here. On pay day.
Last night was our annual excursion from the Lake Geneva area to Harvest to celebrate my wife's birthday and our anniversary. This year's celebration was made even more special after surviving a heart attack, heart surgery and the acquisition of a fab new job following recovery.
Met at the door in the usual manner, coats graciously stored and seated in our requested window seat, a highly sought after location, we reacquainted with the hostess who reviewed our mission.
Our server Julie soon arrived to share the evenings specialties along with a most cordial greeting. Julie turned out to be more of a tour guide than server by steering us to items not even on the menu. She was highly knowledgeable about pairings and made several very positive suggestions like a starting cheese appetizer with award winning local sheep and goat cheeses, an outstanding quince compote and lightly honey glazed toasted walnuts. Her favored sparkling Lambrusco was perfect with it's bright flavor and it balanced nicely with the earthy cheeses.
My wife ordered a tasty beet salad as I contented myself with all of the available cheeses. The evening was off to a wonderful start.
Our choice of entrée was roast duck simply because we get our fill of beef, pork, fish and chicken at home. It proved to be the perfect choice. It arrived with a delicate sear and was moist, not fatty at all and finished to perfection. It was nested on lovingly placed fingerling potatoes and gently wilted spinach resting in a tangy sauce to die for. It simply was the right choice for us. I switched to a full bodied red wine from the house wine list that also matched well.
Being our little celebration, we certainly had to have desert. My wife choose a very rich and creamy chocolate affair with a crispy topping. I decided on a cake like gingery pudding with roasted pears and a cranberry accent. Both were truly amazing. Both were suggested by Julie as they paired well with our wines.
It was sad for our personal event to come to an end. The atmosphere and attentive efforts by all of the staff we encountered is why we return each year. We can not think of enough accolades to fully describe the care, perfection and presentation that the staff of Harvest brings forth. This is dining at it's highest. Please give harvest a try, trust the staff to steer your journey. You will never be disappointed. So on a scale of 5 we are giving a most sincere 5.
For the cost, the food was meh. The best parts of the restaurant was the bartender and the wait staff. The food is fine. That's it fine. Nothing exceptional here. The flavors are predictable but nothing that brings any wow to the palate. No originality. Wish there was just more creativity.
