this establishment has good vegan pizza. actually they have amazing vegan pizza. the staff is kind and helpful. I recommend their vegan cheese and pepperoni, definitely some of the best I've ever had. also recommend their vegan pesto tomato. that pizza gives me liifffee

Place has a good atmosphere and great pizza. There's a ton of variety in the slices, everything between pepperoni and quesadilla. There are also vegetarian options. Pepperoni and cheese are $3, specialty is $4.

Okay, I think it your experience Ian's depends on when you're eating. Dinner? Great, lots of interesting and creative flavors that keep your meal experience interesting. Late night? Now you're talking. Nothing like Ian's to satisfy your late night hunger.

When you ask the people on States Street for the best Pizza Joint they all recommend Ian's. Their signature is the Macaroni and Cheese Pizza therefore that is what I purchased for 4 bucks. Amazing crust and the cheese flavors are sinful with a hint of pepper (not spicy at all). I wouldn't have thought this a good combo but it proved me wrong. If you visit State Street, Ian's is a must! There were many people however the line moved quickly; the staff were polite and answered many questions about the various Pizzas.

The pizza was great, but the wait wasn't. There was some confusion around different lines for salad vs. pizza and then the line for the registers. There wasn't really any signage directing where to go. The staff was awesome, though, and were totally working their butts off for the lunch rush.

Ian's Pizza combines local atmosphere with their daily events, such as comedy nights, etc. with great pizza at a reasonable price. Low grease content, as well as a large variety to choose from, including their ever-popular Mac & Cheese pizza slices. It would be nice if they had a "Mini" Salad Option, as even their smallest sized bowls for salad can be a large to some. Don't forget the puppy chow, proceeds for the dessert go toward the Dane County Humane Society.

Good selection of pizza by the slice. The pizza is cooked well and taste good. The fountain drinks have a better than average selection. The biggest negative is the fact that it doesn't have a concrete closing time, it closes at "late".

A must for anyone living in Madison, or visiting state Street. If you catch yourself at the end of the night with the drunk munchies, you'll likely venture here. Be aware, this place is always crowded, sometimes the line is to the street, but it's worth the wait. You'll find unique options like Mac & Cheese Pizza, my personal favorite.

Love Ian's for their salads! They have an great selection for a build-your-own salad and it's my go-to stop on State Street. Staff is quick to serve, but be prepared for a loud and only semi-clean environment.

The pizza is reasonably priced, the service fast, and even the salads can be worth the trip.
This location tends to have a bit more upscale clientele than the one on Frances St. They do a good lunchtime business, and I have been in here a few times for that purpose. Sometimes I get a slice or two, but their salads made to order are also a good bet. You can get a wide variety of items in your salad, and a large selection of different dressings are available as well.
The standard pizza slices, like a pepperoni and sausage are excellent, but I sometimes go for the philly steak, which is delicious. My friends swear by the mac and cheese pizza, but that really is not my bag.response / report this review
