Absolutely wonderful. David and Kitty were inviting and attentive. They made themselves available yet they gave privacy. We went for my birthday and they very kindly upgraded us from the Teachers room to The Patriot room (Suite). The room and bathroom were perfectly clean. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on! There was an assortment of teas, and snacks available in the kitchenette. The breakfast made by Kitty and Dave was beyond amazing! This was my first experience with a B&B and I have to say we will 100% be returning to Hartzell House. I cannot say enough great things about our experience!

This place just goes beyond what I think of as a b&b. The food was amazing. The hosts are so friendly, and accommodating. Organic foods, upscale facilities, inviting open areas, and artsy vibe. The rooms were interesting and beds were so comfortable! We can't wait to come back!

We stayed at The Hartzell House for our one year wedding anniversary. It couldn’t have been more perfect. This bed and breakfast is so cozy and absolutely gorgeous. Everything is decorated so beautifully. David and Kitty are very hospitable. No continental breakfast here! Our breakfast was gourmet and so delicious. You can definitely tell a lot of time and hard work has gone into everything here. We will definitely be back again soon.

I highly recommend sharing your getaway time at Kitty and David’s home. The food was outstanding - made with love and the best ingredients - their home unique and comfortable. The fellow B&B guests were pleasant and engaging. I only wish I could have spent more time settling in for the day.

This place is tucked back in from main roads. It's quiet, private and wonderful. The owners were so nice, the house is beautiful and the food was amazing. They have a bunch of vegetarian and vegan options too. They recommended some nice dinner options as well. Highly recommended.

This is such a gorgeous little B 'n' B, and Dave and Kitty are wonderful hosts. The room we stayed in was beautiful, spacious, and comfortable, and the breakfast was out of this world delicious. This bed and breakfast is also in a prime location, given how near it is to so many state parks and attractions. The Laurel Highlands and Deep Creek State Park are both within a 35 minute drive. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get away for awhile and enjoy nature. The possibilities are endless here!

If you are planning a trip to tour the Wright houses and visit the local battlefields and historical sites this is an ideal place to stay. The rooms are extremely nice, the hosts are the nicest couple you would ever want to meet, and the condition of the property is very nice, clean, and inviting. The breakfasts were nicely done and the house offers places to relax after a hard day of touring. We booked our tour tickets through the hosts and everything was most convenient. If you are a B&B traveler, this a must stay location.

We spent a night here before visiting nearby Fallingwater. The house is 19th century original and very well preserved. The hosts are super kind and make you feel at home. David baked scones for breakfast (and waffles and porridge with fruits, so good), all organic produce!
Our only regret is not having stayed one or two more nights

From the moment we met the owners it was a sigh of relief. They were so relaxed and made us feel right at home immediately. They showed us around the incredible house and all I could say is "wow" It was breathtaking. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms was wonderfully decorated. I felt so spoiled! The rain shower head in the bathroom was very nice and the pressure was perfect. We forgot our toiletries but everything was already provided. Very good quality products too, not the cheap stuff from the dollar store. When we arrived for breakfast the next morning at our chosen hour time slot, the smells of the kitchen permeated the entire house! Freshly brewed coffee was served, along with fresh juice and hot water for tea. The stuffed french toast is what I had chosen for breakfast and as I type my mouth is watering thinking about the skill and passion that went into making the best french toast I have ever had in my life. The ginger syrup rocked my world! My friend and I were sad to go but left after breakfast. I will most CERTAINLY be back! Hopefully soon!

The owners, Dave and Kitty, were incredibly welcoming. Thier house is beautiful and they have every imaginable amenity available. The breakfast they served was some of the best I've had in my life, you can tell they've spent time learning new creative recipes.

It was a pleasure to stay with Kitty and Dave! The house is amazing and they are very welcoming and gracious hosts. I would recommend this B&B to anyone! The breakfasts were amazing and we loved getting to know the other guests. They have created a home away from home that we hope to visit again in warmer weather.
