Great family camping, new water, elec, cable & 10 full hookup sites. Paved roads new comfort station, nice staff.
I love this course so the 5 stars is a reflection of my normal experience at HLC. The staff is friendly, the course is challenging and usually in good shape, and it's reasonably priced. Right now though they've got some construction going on that you have to work around. The improvements will no doubt have it back to a five before long so I'm keeping my "5" on it.
Beautiful park, tons of trails to walk bike or ride (horses) very nice Lake and the area is covered in small creeks with little water falls and rapids.
We camped here with a tent at a Pioneer site & it had amazing views. The kids loved running and playing in the trees. My daughter was NOT a fan of the outhouse :P
I've also visited for a family reunion in the cottage area. The cottages are comfortable and have all the amenities you could wish for.
We visited here in the summer and spent about 4 hrs and went swimming at the little beach. It was not too crowded. There are restrooms here and outside showers to rinse off after swimming. We did a little fishing and i caught a 3 1/2 lb.catfish without hardly any effort. The kids enjoyed the fishing & play areas. I would suggest going when you could spend the day. They also have cookout areas & grills if you want that too. Theyc also have cottage rentals.
We camped over night with our Cub Scout Pack. Overall a really good experience but the outhouses were in need of attention.
Nice park with cute store that has all your basic camping needs and souvenirs. Pretty trails, and well maintained facilities.
The spiders, my God, the spiders. They're everywhere. On the bed, on me, on the toilet. This must be the place spiders go when you kill them. They're all here. They're probably here because with spiders eating insects, they'll never go hungry. Their cup runneth over with moths, mosquitoes, roaches, gnats and other spiders.
First time in a cabin, much needed time of rest. Great Family and Fun gathering. I truly wish I owned a 🐴 though. 🙁
Been coming here since I was a little boy. Love the recent renovated sites. The new gravel is too large for my liking but it's ok. Love the smaller 89 size. Will always come back!
Mini golf, fishing, newly renovated, large park, great and friendly Park Rangers, a lakefront "beach", and no power boats ripping through the water. A really great park!
Nice family atmosphere. It has a lake beach with dirt. Not my liking, but my 4 year old grandson loved it. Nice for a family day out.
Swimming area is clean, sandy and popular with all ages locally. Come ride your horse. Upscale camping and glow in dark mini golf.
Take a trail tour with a ranger. Rent a group shelter and grill out for major family and friends events. See the stars in the high tech observatory run by the local college. Peddle Boat and Canoe. Kayaking tours and solo. Full golf course and beautiful fishing areas.
Come have fun! Welcome Y'all!!
What a nice park. I our 17 day trip from North Carolina to Moab and back. This was one of the top 2 RV places we stayed at. The work done on the park shows. Clean large RV sites, Clean rest rooms. I would highly recommend this park to RV campers without hesitation. The other nice RV park was Rockhound in New Mexico.
It seems they've done some good major remodeling. You won't be disappointed with the full-service hookups, fire pits, mini golf, showers and local service from the Rangers. Be sure you pay your $5 entrance fee even after hours or they will make sure that you have. Happy camping.
