Wonderful park with nice hiking and bike trails. Very clean bathrooms. Great yurt accommodations right on the water's edge makes for great sunrise and sunset views.

We regularly visit for some of the best trails for running and biking in the area. The cabins are very nice and new for an overnight stay. Other than that, I can't say much for the park. The beach is not great for swimming.with dirty sand and trash. There are playgrounds, but nothing spectacular and could use improvements. Don't expect to catch fish, I've caught only a few in several trips.

We use the RV Dump Station here (Campground 2 is the easiest to access for our Class-A motorhome.) The restrooms are clean & the Campground Host is friendly.
The new boat ramp at Campground 2 looks great! (It was being constructed last year, early 2017, when the lake/reservoir was drained.)
I often use a Library-sourced (Winder, Auburn or Monroe, GA) GA State Parks Pass if I don't want to pay the $5 entrance/parking fee! :)

We've rented yurts two Thanksgivings in a row. The yurts are clean, well maintained, and homey. They sleep 6 people, and come with paddles and life jackets for canoeing (an extra charge, but well worth the money). I highly recommend them, even in the cooler months.

This park is very clean the equipment is kept up very nicely and I prefer to take my granddaughter here then two other parks where there's glass and food and trash Fort Yargo State Park is my number one Park I recommend you take your kids here

My best friend, Randy, is an avid fisherman, and I loving camping [which I haven't done for more than 20 years] so we rented a RV, and spent 4 days camping all over N. Georgia.
Our last campsite was at this state park and we got lucky and got a site w/full hookup on the lake !! We saw deer and even a squirrel that Randy made friends with. The employees were very helpful and courteous!!

Nice park with lots of trails. Some of the little things like benches and railings need fixing but it's a good walk through the woods and also down by the water. Wish they allowed more places to swim because the "beach" can get a little busy on a warm day. Trails are natural ( no paving ) but pretty easy to navigate.

Great place to relax in the summer. Beach access for 5 dollars, although it can get very crowded at times. Staff is usually lacking, most seem to be boy scouts trying to earn a badge or something, and very rarely are they paying attention to what's going on around them. The last time I was there, I had to swim out into the middle of the lake to retrieve 2 standing paddle boards that the rental people left unsecured on the dock, and neither of the staff felt like they could swim out there to retrieve them What?! Other than that, it is a very nice place to bring kids for nature hikes, fishing, or camping.

This is one of the best state parks in Georgia. It has so much to offer. We love kayaking on the huge lake. There are also great trails. We love this park! It's great for families.

This was my first time out at Fort Yargo. I took my puppy, and me and the husband went for half a day during the first part of the summer. It was a very pleasant experience hiking the trails and eating a picnic. The trails were easy to hike (even for couch potatoes like ourselves) and the park facilities were all very clean. I will definitely be back for another visit.

Nice park with lots of walking and biking trails. Decent sized lake with opportunity to fish. Wooden foot bridge spans the lake so its a lot of fun with kids. Also primitive camping with fire pits available as well as shelters with grills and outhouses.

Love this place! The people working there is very informative. The state park have a lot to do from mini golf to mountain biking. Definitely a place I will go back to. Especially for the camping.

Stayed for 4 -5 nights at the campground. Beautiful wooded surroundings, lake side camp site, so quiet you could hear a mouse fart. I slept like a baby. Rangers are nice and do a great job. Cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen for a public facility. Good job Fort Yargo personnel.
