Not my favorite Hampton Inn. They began repair on another room near mine at 8am which involved loud hammering. Better than 7am but still annoying. It’s wasn’t terrible but def not up to what I normally expect from a Hampton.
This Hampton Inn is located in a shady area across from an abandoned motel and check cashing business. Both nights I stayed there was a domestic disturbance next door that woke me up and made me feel unsafe. Nothing was done after I reported the incident. The room and breakfast were fine but I would never stay at this location again and I am a Hilton Honors member.
Very clean rooms. And the breakfast was better than the hotel that I normally stay at when in Tampa. If it wasn't for the traffic I would stay there when I come to Tampa
Rooms need updating. Walls were dirty, cracked bathroom light fixture, cigarette burn on bed skirting, hole in shower curtain and shower head was about to fall off the wall. Check the bedding, 1st room had dirty sheets. Some good though, the maintenance guy, breakfast attendants, and one of the front desk attendants, the one who was there when I had to switch rooms, they were all super. Just wish the rest of the place was held up to the Hilton standards.
To make it quick, on our last night of a 4 day stay a random person was given a key to my room and they tried to get in while me and my husband were sleeping just after midnight. The manual lock was the only thing that kept them out. We were then cussed out by the clerk for sleeping in the room we reserved and paid in full for. The plumbing was falling out of the wall. Cobwebs and mold on the celling. AC sucked. The pool was green. Unless you like strangers having keys to your room don't go here.
Reserved a non-smoking room with double beds, given one with a king. Guest checking in before me was forced into a smoking room. Hotel is overbooked so management is forcing people into rooms they didn't specify to fit everyone in. "You can go somewhere else if you don't like it."
Room was great, breakfast was excellent, nice staff, and I Loved the colored lights at the pool! But I went to the lobby in the early am monday 09/18th..and saw porn being played on the TV in the Lobbyonly bad experience that made me feel uncomfortable to check out with front desk associate so we just left. Besides that overall Great stay!
The hotel and staff are very nice. However, so far they have overcharged my credit card by more than $100 and no one can offer a reasonable explanation as to why, despite asking twice, and speaking to two different people. All they will say is that it will be returned after I check out, but I have never had this problem at any other hotel, so I won't be staying here again.
I needed a hotel near the arena and did not want to stay in downtown Tampa so I opted for this one as I love the hotel brand. Upon the entering the lobby I was greeted by Monet and David by name. I had called earlier to see if I could check in as I needed to be in Tampa by 5 pm and the room was ready by 2. I did the online check-in and I just had to show my ID and then I was handed the keys. The room I had was the king suite and overall the room was very clean. The next morning we had a nice hot breakfast. When in the area I will definitely stay here again.
Rooms are acceptable, TV is DirecTV so goes out during storms. Fitness center doesn't have all channels on the TV or fully working AC. Breakfast is decent.
Good service, good place. We come down here every year for a swim meet. We have been coming here for over 5 years and everytime the service is good. Standard service and good morning breakfast options.
Hotel has been very clean, staff attentive and friendly. One of the big perks is free parking, which is getting harder to find at hotels in big cities. The free hot breakfast has one of the largest selections of items I've seen. Easy access is nice, and is close to gas stations and places to eat.
Great hotel. Very clean, beds were comfortable and rooms were properly taken care of. Hotel only has slight difficulty to find, but it is a city after all. Breakfast is great in the morning.
A little dated, but clean enough and nice staff. UPDATED Feb2017: I was never impressed with this hotel over my few stays, but never grossed out until my last stay. There was a used wash cloth left in my room and very expired items (yogurt) provided at the breakfast buffet. I'm glad I checked the date before eating it. I've changed my review from 4 stars to 1.
