Second time staying here. Staff is helpful and polite. Rooms are standard for the price, nothing stands out as problematic. The included breakfast well, it's free. The location is walking distance to downtown Lexington and its shops and restaurants in one direction, and some chain stores and fast food in the other.
I can't say enough how great the staff is here! Really nice people. From receiving an email from the assistant manager before arrival, to the people on site, we were taken of. Beautiful location too. Clean, comfortable rooms.
The most unique and classy major chain hotel I've ever visited. Has a classic look and feel with modern convinces. Could swore I was at the Ritz. Highly recommend staying here.
Quaint, lovely hotel on well-groomed grounds. The front of the hotel seemed like an historic home. The single king bed room was nicedecent size and equipped with a mini fridge. The room could use cosmetic upgrade, but was clean and comfortable.
A most beautiful, historic mansion converted to be the hotel. There are many items authentic to the period of time the building was a private residence. Original surroundings are were not altered. Only the fireplace had been closed up in the Free breakfast room. Clean and comfortable
Many restaurants very nearby. Very pleasant and helpful staff.
Beautiful historic Classical style mansion, located on 7-acres right near the heart of Lexington, VA. Very friendly staff (check-in, breakfast, and housekeeping were all great!). Mansion building itself is beautiful inside/outside. Choose from one of several rooms to have tea or your free Hampton breakfast. Or sit on the porch at one of the many tables to read the paper. Even has a historic log cabin on the site. Very nice. That's the good news. Unfortunately, the annex surrounding the mansion (where my room was located) was dark, old, and a little musty (room 100). It was clean mind you. Just kind of musty and dank. Opened the window and door just to get some fresh air and light in (at least until the bugs and a black cat started coming in). Spent 3 days there. Probably would look elsewhere next time I'm in town. Felt like I was paying for the history and not for the quality of the room. Beautiful grounds and mansion though.
It felt like this hotel was located right on the edge of the historic district. It was a quick walk to all of the shops and restaurants. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the staff was typical Hampton-friendly. We stayed on the Washington & Lee room, which was in the historic mansion section. It was a very nice room with a comfortable 4-post bed. It felt old(historic), but restored and very well maintained.
Staff and rooms were great. A special thanks to Robin and Saddie for the personal tour & information. Hoping to stay again when passing through from Pa to GA
Lovely hotel with historic charm and wonderful amenities right in downtown Lexington. Easy walking to restaurants, shopping, and downtown attractions. Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Stayed with a large family group and the hotel accomodated our desire to be kept together. Great coffee and breakfast selection.
Best hotel in Lexington, bar none. If you have the opportunity to stay in the historic Col Alto house, it is worth the extra charge. Your will feel like you are staying in a small, family-run bed and breakfast and forget that you are steps away from a large Hampton Inn.
Pleasant experience all around. We arrived very late and were graciously checked in and given a map to park and get to our room. The gym is small but well-appointed and breakfast was quite tasty.
I want to commend the manager,George Moore, and the director of housekeeping, Jessica, for their incredible assistance in returning a ring which I accidentally left in my room. I did not miss the ring for several days, and then contacted the hotel for assistance. Jessica and her team had kept the ring in safekeeping, and George saw that it was returned safely to me. I am so grateful for the honesty and integrity shown by these employees. The ring was a gift to me from my wife from a trip to Israel two years ago. I was delighted to have it returned! I will look forward to opportunities to stay at this lovely hotel again and I highly recommend it to all who are traveling or visiting in this area.
