Dr. Knight and Dr. Nicely are fantastic. They are really caring and very thorough. We have really enjoyed having them take care of our dogs. They also helped tremendously when our oldest dog was suffering from dementia.
Do not go here. This place was awful. No accountability or common courtesy. On my first visit, my pet was traumatized while they tried to take blood. They brought him out to me smelling like an alcohol swab and blood up underneath the white portion of his neck. The vet never introduced him or herself. I had ask for a call back from the owner. This skinny boy held the door open and just let us leave. Of course, there was no call back. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET THERE. THEY COULD CARE LESS.
Great Vet in a great location, very friendly employees. Recommended!
I have been going to Hampton Cove Animal Hospital for over a year now. Dr. Knight has been my babies' primary vet and has been amazing with all of my kids. We have had a rough year with the loss of 3 of our babies over the last year, and she and the staff, as well as Dr. Hardiman and Dr. Nicely have all been unbelievably caring and compassionate. Dr. Knight is very knowledgeable and doesn't hestitate to reach out to specialists when she doesn't know the answer. Same with the other vets. And the staff goes above and beyond - they know us, they know our animals and everyone of them is caring and compassionate.
Really nice people. All around positive experience.
They have nice staff and nice doctors but they are WAY OVERPRICED. A simple vaccine is $26.00 compared to other vets are $16.00 Went in to get a vaccine and had a cyst on my dogs paw. When asked about it and approved a doctor to look at it, I asked if they would then perform a full wellness check up on him before I consented. I was told yes, they would check him out completely. They came in and checked his temp, listened to his heart, looked in his ears, and looked for bumps. NO BLOOD WORK. They used a needle to gain fluid from his cyst and looked under a microscope. I was told that they recommend removing the cyst and to check for cancer. Okay, and while he would be under anesthesia they would like to clean his teeth. My bill for his visit was over $120. $55 for an office visit with no blood work, $40 to check his cyst under a microscope and $26 for the vaccine that was due. When I got my estimate to clean his teeth and remove the cyst it was a "RANGE" from $780-$1400! I have reached out to other vets and they charge half the price. We have had dogs for 13 years and are no stranger to vets. They are very nice but way to OVER PRICED. We have been there a year since we moved here and we will start looking for a place that is more reasonable.
Bottom line, If you are not on a budget and can afford the prices, it is a nice place but they over charge A LOT!
We have 4 dogs ranging from 50lbs to 180 lbs. They treat our dogs like they were their own. The staff is fabulous, very personable, and always ready to help.
Great service and people are super nice, they call to make sure dogs are ok after the visit!
Way Over Priced! My Doberman came in Saturday morning during their open hours for an emergency (jumped the fence but got caught and peeled back 4" triangle of skin. $450+. Needed stitches, Dr. Nicely put staples. I took Doberman back two days later; I could smell infection and voiced my concerns. Wanted to charge me $70+ to tell me she looked under the microscope and sees infection. Really? That's the reason I brought her in the first place as well as not being stitched up well, still had a flap of skin hanging. Wanted to charge me an additional $200. Added things Doberman didn't need such as laser light to aid in healing, etc. That is all fine if you have money for unneeded treatments. I am on a tight budget. Would be different if Doberman needed all they wanted to rack up on the bill.
Immediately took her to Dr. Young in New Hope and he did an excellent job! I will never go back to Hampton Cove Animal-They will make sure you PAY for their services.
My advice is to find a Vet who really care about the animals and clients instead of trying to line their pockets.
This place is top notch. They are fast and very nice. We have boarded cast here and they always seem happy.
My old vet (we recently moved from Huntsville to Owens Cross Roads) charged me $450.00 less than HCAH quoted me for the same surgical procedure. It's a nice place, but it's not that nice.
I have been bringing both of my hounds to Hampton Cove for about five years now. Now that I've moved to the other side of town, I still continue to drive them over there simply because of the great care they receive.
After the recent passing of one of my dogs, Dr. Nicely and Slade (Vet Tech) were so caring towards me and my grieving. I believe that the veterinarian staff is very qualified in making medical decisions, and I trust their decisions.
My dogs have always enjoyed their time with boarding and day care. They LOVE to come and play with their friends!
I used to have a dog sitter but when she moved away I found Cove Pets and LOVE it. They take very good care of my baby when I have to be out of town. My friend takes her dog there for doggie day care and loves that as well. I have taken my dog there to be groomed twice and he comes home looking and smelling great (not medicinal like some places I've taken him before). He always loves to go there which is always a good sign.
We have been using Hampton Cove Animal Hospital for over 5 years and love their veterinarians and staff! The facility is always clean and the staff greet you with a smile. Our dog loves her visits with them. She wags her tail as soon as we pull up and the staff is very good with her! They are very efficient with appointments and always take extra time to answer all questions. I would certainly recommend them to anyone needing veterinary care for their pet!
