Went there for my little sister's birthday and the view of the sky at night was enough for me to rate it 5 stars. Enchanting.
I love going here. Grew up going here and will always be my peaceful place
One of Ohio's better kept secrets. One of very few lakes that has no-wake zones which is great for fishing/kayaking. 2 nice places to eat with boat parking.
A small, cozy, family friendly campground. Everyone was friendly and helpful, from the camp host, to the office worker to the maintenance guy who came right out to help us with a site problem. Beautiful water views from the campsites too.
This is my first visit to this state park and we are tent camping. I wanted a campsite right on the water and for that, Guilford is perfect. I can fish from my campfire while the kids use dip net to catch crayfish. The swimming beach is just thirty yards away and if my kids were older, I'd be cool with them being there by themselves. You can launch your kayak or canoe right from your campsite and paddle over to an intriguing little island. Some campsites come with boat docks. The showers and bathrooms are the cleanest I've ever seen in a state park. The staff has been helpful and friendly. The park Naturalist took the kids on a dip netting adventure and then led a free kayak paddle excursion for kids. That's awesome. The reason I'm only handing out 3 stars is because this small park has very small campsites that are all right on top of one another. It's claustrophobic. And all of the other campers are super social and because you are on top of one another it feels like a huge group camping trip but with strangers. Additions, the Saturday night family movie is wicked loud. We didn't attend the movie but we could hear it loud and clear as we put our toddlers to bed.
I've always liked Guilford but I wish the water at the beach was clean. There a week ago and very dirty, at least no duck poo! Bathroom and changing area could use an update. A rather peaceful place to go otherwise.
Love this beautiful lake. The beach is nicely sized and clean. The bath house needs some work. Showers didn't work, many toilet were inoperable, some sinks had no water. The camping area looks nice, although I didn't use it.
Great and relaxing campground. My favorite. Who needs restaurants when you have a campfire?
Love Guilford bc it's quiet and you can relax and enjoy without worry of loud obnoxious people. It's an out of the way drive but worth it.
A very nice lake with a few boat launches 2 great lake side restaurants and boat rentals. Only bad thing is the 10 horsepower limit. I don't see why it's not more of a speed limit than a horsepower limit. It's about noise. And noise comes from speed. Not horsepower. A 10 horsepower motor on a alumacraft will fly across the lake and make lots of noise, waves too.
Enjoy the little beach and swim area! Want to go back soon. The whole place is pretty nice.
This is such a great get away.Close to home. & good bike ridding roads . The Pennsylvania Alternative. Not the same old same old
