Staff was very helpful and friendly. Activities director made the events throughout the week feel welcoming and enjoyable. Room was clean. Fully stocked kitchen. Bed was great. Room smelled a little the first couple of days. Bathroom by toilet smelled bad throughout stay. Location is a bit away from downtown Carlsbad but the shuttle service was easy and quick.
I stayed here with my wife and toddler son. Very nice place and we enjoyed our stay. My only complaint is regarding the early morning unsolicited phone calls from the concierge. We got one on our first morning while we were awake and one on the second morning while we were asleep which woke all of us up. Fortunately, my son fell back asleep. I would recommend turning off the ringer on the phone if you plan to sleep in and don't want to be disturbed.
Traded from my own resort in Lake Tahoe. What a treat. Huge. Great views. Great staff. Great rooms. Love❤️❤️❤️❤️
Overall not a good experience considering there are so many good options down here. The front desk asked for my email "for emergencies", now why would my email be the best?! Then we get to the room and it wasn't what was expected our advertised. Then, we figure that the pool will be the saving grace only to find out that they don't have pool towels at the pool but only at the front desk! Not sure how that makes sense.
Really, I'd never stay here again! Going back to the Marriott tomorrow!
We ate at Karl Strauss. There were some dishes on the table which were dirty but turns out we didn't need them for our main meal. Still though The food however was great and our friend from China said it's the best food she ever had in USA.
The rooms a big and spacious. They have been doing some remodeling. And the rooms we stayed in have been remodeling since the last time we were here. Full kitchen with stove, microwave, coffee and toaster, fridge, etc.. etc. The master room in the three room suite has a soak tub and big walk-in shower. Two other rooms with 2 beds each(2 twin, 2 queen) and another full bath (no soak tub tho). The views are nice, based on the side of the hotel your on. We had direct sunset and ocean view which was nice every night. Local discounts on food and entertainment, just see the front desk. Park is decent, some tight roof limits and spaces for trucks. It's pool I big and has a great water park play area for younger kids as well as a basketball court and kids park. BBQ setups around by the pool as well. Karl Strauss is right next to it so get a jug of beer and bring it back to the room for sunsets and chill.. or whatever haha
Booked through Expedia so I got to see pictures of the location and what room I was booking. The area was beautiful and clean. The King hotel room was as I expected and it was cozy. Not too crowded - a little than half the room was spacious enough and leads up to the balcony where you can see the views of the area.
This is a nice resort. The two room villas we are in are very spacious and clean. We are in a different area of the resort which is probably the family area because there is a mini waterpark for the kids and arcade. Also my husband went to the other part of the resort where it is more luxurious like the Newport Coast Villas. All in all it is still a nice place.
Enjoyed several days here. Easy walking to Legoland and the museum of making music. Kids pool was fun, but a little cold during our stay. We were given a free upgrade from a one bedroom to a two bedroom suite, which was unexpected and awesome. Comfy beds and decent service. Proximity to beaches and other activities was good.
We are not owners, and utilized their hotel service. We found the room rather average to below average for the price, with reasonable size, nice bathroom, functional balcony overlooking the parking lot, micro refrigerator, decent TV with cable and DVD, comfortable beds. WiFi, though free, runs slow. The resorts available amenities are nice, though, particularly if you have young childrenPlay and game rooms, adult-only (with great ocean view) and kids pools. OK fitness room. They are also a 10 minute walk to Legoland. Overall, a reasonable value.
Beautiful view from our spacious room. Super comfy beds. Helpful employees. Great pool and spa. Many other amenities such as gym and sauna. Loved it!
I booked this place through a promotion from Hilton Honors. Big mistake. I was told I'd receive a half price deal on the room along with amusement park tickets of my choice and 100$ discount for my next Hilton stay. I had to go to a presentation and that was it. It was all a lie!
They called me constantly before booking and it took forever to book the date I wanted.
I was offered this promotion when I called in about another matter. I was going to California anyways and decided to go south to take them up on their offer. They were aware of my situation I explain everything thoroughly. I would be there alone without my spouse. The person who booked my stay noticed I wasn't allowed there alone for the promotion but spoke with her manager then ok'd that I still went. We filled out the information and I paid right away with my credit card. When I arrived at the presentation, I was told I wasn't allowed to attend because I wasn't with my spouse. I clearly stated I wouldn't be with him in the beginning and it was accepted that I go for the vacation anyways. They couldn't deal with me when it happened and gave me a phone number to deal with (which was closed). I found another emergency number and they were not very helpful either. She said someone would call me back. They never called back!
So basically my vacation was ruined. I was lied to. I didn't receive tickets to anything and I didn't get a 100$ rebate as promised. No one ever called me back! I waited to deal with this when I got home. Once I finally reached someone after calling 3 times and being told someone will call me back, she tells me they need to charge me the rack price one top of it all. Double the room rate. I refuse to pay and I have a feeling I will be taking this to consumer protection tomorrow. Don't waste your time!
Love this place. Great room, great coffee and breakfast including spinach and whole wheat choices.the best ocean view from balcony . Shower pressure delightful. The sixth floor pool gives great Vistas of the mountains.
I'm ataying at Grand Pacific Palisades now and I love it! The staff have all been extraordinarily helpful and friendly, they have a lot of activities available and have handed out free champagne.
There is great microbrewery pub on the premises with a nice beer selection.
The only downside I've had is that the bed is too firm for our tastes. When I mentioned this to guest services, they had some extra blankets brought up to act as a mattress topper. It's still not as soft as we would like, but it helps and I appreciate the effort.
