Have not been treated so rudely by a member of the public in many, many years as I was today by the man doing the Glenora Wines wine tasting before Thanksgiving in Ithaca. I had come from teaching a work class on local farm knowledge and the importance of the local economy (for international scholars) and stopped in to get my Thanksgiving wines. I saw that a wine tasting was underway and approached the table where it was taking place. The Glenora man, in his Glenora wine shirt, utterly ignored me while pouring for three males customers, all the while in a deep conversation. Finally, made to feel like a beggar, I left the counter and went and bought other wines. I host Finger Lakes wine tastings often for colleagues and spend a lot of money for various organizations on wine at this store, close to $700 a month some months. I was shocked to be treated so badly because I was in "farm work clothes" or because I was a woman in a male space. My bad for assuming a public wine tasting in my local liquor store was open to the . public. It will be a cold day in hell before I go to Glenora wines. If this guy was the owner -- shame on you. If this guy was representing your firm, you need to get someone with more respect for Ithaca and women.

Best wines from the several we've visited. John was very knowledgeable, personable and helpful. Enjoyed our wine tasting so much we are now sitting at the restaurant overlooking Seneca lake!

I was not impressed for this wines. Some of the whites and roses were kept in a sink exposed directly to the sun, they were not served on right temperature, in addition my glass was dirty and unfortunately the staff was not knowledgeable enough. The place has so much potential and the view is so beautiful that I hope they manage to improve a little bit the services.

Decent wines. One of the biggest wineries on the trail. Feels kind of rushed unlike smaller places which I prefer.

Visited as party of wine tour around Finger Lakes Wine Country, Rochester, NY. Good selection of wines, nice location, beautiful view of Seneca Lake and vineyards. But their restaurant was whole other story. We ordered Filafil wrap for myself and Grilled Tofu Tacos for my wife. Food was mediocre. Filafil was sour, not sure if chickpeas is old. Tacos were literally 3 portions of tiny Tacos (as about 2 inches in diameter) with just 2 sticks (size of small French fries) of Tofu grilled with some greens. After lunch we came out hungry and less $60 in our pocket. I would think twice going there again.

The Finger Lakes region has a thriving wine industry. It is becoming one of the better wine producing regions in the United States. Glenora is one of the better wineries in the region. It offers a great wine tasting cellar, a comfortable inn and a solid restaurant that offers simple foods with high quality ingredients that are mostly locally sourced. It is also 15 minutes from Watkjns Glen and 45 minutes from Ithaca. If you are visiting the Finger Lakes region, I highly recommend this place!
