Prices for changing an oil decent if you have a coupon. Other services are a rip off, Changing a key fob was a rip off. Replace something that should've been replaced, Then charged me extra without a consult.

I purchased a vehicle from Germain Ann Arbor in June. I also purchased GAP insurance under the assurance that I can cancel that insurance at any time. I have been trying to cancel the insurance for the past 3+ months and the company has not processed the refund (only assurances that it is coming). It has been about 4 months now and the issue has not been resolved. I ended up filing a complaint with the BBB.

Incredibly quick and friendly staff! Good prices, too! I'd recommend it anyone.

There was a CD stuck in the radio and some days later I had a new radio for free!

First experience with Germain Honda. Unlike some other Honda dealerships we have dealt with, we did not feel that the salesperson who first greeted us as we entered the showroom tried to steer us toward his or her pick for us. Bob listened to what we had to say about what we were interested in and answered our questions matter-of-factly (and often interjected some intelligent humor which we appreciated). After deciding on a car to purchase, we ran into some glitches that prolonged the process (our fault) and had to return the next day to complete the purchase. Both Bob and Jason (the sales manager or finance guy) were very gracious--even though we were now way past closing time. Both were back the next morning to greet us with hot coffee and to finish the paperwork. Have only had the car a few days, but so far seems like a good match. We felt we were offered a fair deal, the price just slightly below what online sites said a comparable Accord would sell for at a dealership. Both Bob and Jason seemed genuinely proud of the dealership's philosophy toward service and customers. We felt we were being talked to rather than being subjected to a show. Nice to be treated like adults. Glenn and Sue

My experience with this dealership has been endlessly disappointing. I purchased my current vehicle here and the entire process was frustrating, tedious and nerve-wracking. Unrealistic expectations were given to me about demands on my time, and in response to the hell that was the process of finalizing the sale, they offered me a free oil change. Not much of an olive branch, when I later realized the vehicle had heavily degraded wiper blades on it that required immediate replacement. I attempted to call in and schedule a time for service today, only to find that - despite being well within posted business hours - the phone was ignored and kicked to a generic voice mail message. I wanted the car they had and the vehicle has otherwise been wonderful, but if I could do it over again I would not have chosen to buy from this dealership.

The only thing that saves this dealership from a one star rating is that the sales representative and the finance manager I worked with seemed genuinely concerned with solving problems and were doing their personal effort to make things smoother. It hasn't worked out that they succeeded in making this a good customer experience, but I do believe truly that they tried and wanted to help.

Further update to my review: they did provide an oil change as promised. The sales associate I worked with just a few months ago is no longer at this company, which is not at all shocking.

I had a great experience at Germain Honda with my first new car purchase. Bob Kimberly, my sales consultant, is the reason I'm giving 5 stars. I highly recommend him to anyone. Bob made sure I got the exact car that I wanted, even though the trim and color I wanted were difficult to find in the area. During the time it took for my new car to arrive, Bob made sure I was comfortable with a loaner car of the same model and year I was purchasing. Bob has an integrity that I have seldom seen in people who work in sales, which made the car buying process both comfortable and pleasant. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I am very satisfied with my experience at Germain Honda in Ann Arbor. They were quick and very nice. I drove down from the Lansing area because I took my car to the Honda dealership in Okemos which was god awful it took them 4 hours to do an oil change and on top of that they were mean. So I drove to Ann Arbor to get my car worked on and I was happy I drove down. It was worth the traffic I sat in. I'll go back there anytime.

Oil change + tip-50$. Just for me to shortly after have to take my vehicle (Honda Civic) to a shop to have fixed because they somehow forgot to attach a very large panel on the bottom of my vehicle after servicing it. Yup, you read that right. A whole chunk of the underneath of my car missing when I let them work on it. A week after I had gotten my oil change, I all of the sudden heard a terrible loud banging and dragging noise on the bottom of my car. I pulled over and saw that the whole middle panel of my undercarriage had snapped and was halfway hanging on, dragging on the ground, being damaged by getting dragged on the ground. I instantly went and put my vehicle on a lift and was shown where they had removed the front panel of my undercarriage, which was what the large middle panel was supposed to be bolted to, but instead they managed to forget to put the whole panel back on, so the middle was only hanging onto the car by the back two bolts on the rear part of the panel, which eventually have out and snapped, being that it had nothing to support itself to. Went to Midas, the place that my car was originally inspected at when I first got it, put on the lift, and the whole underneath on my car was all there when I had bought it. Huge chunk underneath snaps off after Honda works on my car. Go and put it on the lift. Part of my car is missing. Middle panel damaged. We had to remove the entire middle section of my undercarriage and wrap it up in plastic for me to spend more of my time, to go back into Honda, carrying a whole chunk of my vehicle, having to explain to them that I'd prefer to have my whole car, not missing pieces. There were also a few other random caps missing, but they weren't a big deal. I came in. Manager didn't say anything to me. Took my car and fixed it free of charge. You could tell they were embarrassed.

Wow! I can't say enough good things about this dealership, or sales consultant, Bob Kimberly. Professional, personable, thorough and a great deal! From start to finish, a wonderful experience. Bob Kimberly was superb - there was never any pressure. He was welcoming, enthusiastic and a skilled communicator. He listened and then became a master teacher and mentor - explaining, showing me all the features of the 2017 Honda CR-V I purchased. I can't thank him enough for his patience, all the time and attention to detail he showed me. His goal was clearly to help me be comfortable with making the right choices and to learn about the features of the car, not just to 'make the sale'. As we finalized purchasing steps and waited for the car to be built and delivered, Bob phoned and emailed me with updates and sent a link so that I could watch tutorials on the car's features.
I also want to say that after visiting dealerships much closer to where I live, I chose Germain Honda - an hour's drive away. BEST choice by far!
The staff I worked with was outstanding. Kudos to Jason, Jerome in financing and especially Bob Kimberly. Bob, I'd give you ten stars instead of the 5 they allow in the rating option - you were that exceptional.
Thank you for such a positive buying experience. I highly recommend Germain Honda and specifically Bob Kimberly as sales consultant when considering a Honda vehicle.

TL;DR: Made an appointment online a week in advance for an oil change and tire rotation. When arriving I was informed that appointments had no effect on oil changes, ended up waiting 2 hours. Staff was friendly, price was decent, "Express Service" was not express. UPDATE: Tried to get oil change two other times and the waits were as follows, Tuesday Morning: 2hrs, Monday Afternoon 1.5hrs. Will not be returning to this service center.

    Full Review:
I am writing about the service department of the Germain Honda Dealership. I recently moved to Ann Arbor and needed to find a place to get regular maintenance on my Honda. With 292 reviews and a 4.7 average rating I decided to try out Germain Honda of Ann Arbor.

Initially I was impressed with the website, the scheduling service, and noticed that they offered express service on Saturdays. Since I work during the week the express service on Saturday was appealing to me. I scheduled an appointment a week in advance for 10:30 AM on Saturday.

Skip ahead to the day of my appoint I arrived at 10:35 AM. Staff was friendly and told me to sit in the waiting room while they serviced my car. I made sure to mention my appointment and took my seat. I waited until 12:15 PM and then my name was called indicating my service was finished. I spoke with one of the staff members and asked why an oil change/tire rotation took two hours even though I had an appointment. He said appointments are not for oil changes even if you make one it is a first come first serve service ( wish I had known that when I made an appointment). He also stated they only had 1 tech in today. This brings up another issue. Why would there only be one tech on a Saturday during there "express service"? When I got there and when I left there were around 6 cars in line. How can it be express with this many cars and only one technician?

Bottom line: staff was friendly, cost was affordable, "express service" was no where near express. I will try again on a different date and see if the time required decreases.

EDIT: I have attempted to get my oil change at Germain Honda two times since my first oil change experience and each time I was unable to schedule a service and had to drive to the dealership to determine how long I would have to wait. On a Tuesday Morning the wait was 2 hours and then today on Monday it was 1.5 hours. The way that the service department conducts its service does not make any sense to me. With a first come first serve policy you are unable to schedule an appointment and therefore you may get lucky and only have a half hour wait but in my experience it has always been at least an hour.

I will not be returning to Germain Honda and suggest that if you value your time that you do not either.

I worked with Bob Kimberly, and with great pleasure I would highly recommend him to friends and colleagues who are looking to purchase a Honda. Bob really listened to what I was wanting and he helped me make a smart and informed decision on the Civic I purchased in Spring 2016. He's professional (mixing in a smidge of humor), courteous, and engaging. I NEVER felt pressured. I made multiple visits during the process, two of which my daughter joined meBob remembered her name, and he engaged in conversation with her: BIG PLUS! All around great experience, including working with your finance team (they rocked!). I'd give six stars, but that wasn't an option. Thanks, Bob!
