My expectations might be clouded by ycs Mongolian grill but I wasn't that impressed. It was my first time time coming there and there was no one at the door. We stood and waited for a while and eventually just walked back to where the food was. The bowls all look extremely similar in size, although not in price. We went through the line and I did love the meat choices. They were better than ycs but I felt like the bowls weren't sized properly to have both the meat and the veggies or I should have had a paper to pack the food down. When we sat down and for our food the potstickers managed to be greasy and cold :/. It was an ok experience. I didn't leave going "I have to come back here!" but I'd give it another shot.

I took my family here yesterday for lunch. I really use to love going here to eat before I left the state about 2 and a half years ago. I noticed that the prices went up and the portions on the rice went down. We road the bus there from our apartment because we do not have a car. The hostess and the waitress were very nice and the drinks were cheap as well. When I went to build my bowl I pulled a couple off of the shelf. I didn't realize you had to wait for someone to give you the bowl and no one was there. I noticed the bowls were all stacked up top of each other and we being put there still wet. I work at pizza hut and it is actually a big no-no to use any kind of we utensil or pans that are wet. At this point I was impatient and hungry and my toddler was throwing a tantrum because I wasn't getting food to her fast enough. I shook the bowls out as much as I could to get the air to dry them out an I started making the bowls. Since a lot of the meat in the station was empty I just picked the one what was the most full and the one that wasn't sitting out the longest which was completely frozen. After I made the bowls I sat down and wait for my food. When I got my food I noticed that the beef was pretty much burnt. I was like whatever its food I can't complain too much you know it is BBQ after all. I shared my food with my daughter since I got the large bowl. My fiancee said his food tasted fine and we all ate and left. Everything was fine until the next day. We woke up to my daughter throwing up in her bed. She had an intense runny stool as well and she was incredibly ill and could not keep any food down. We called the urgent care and her pediatrician and they told us that if it is food poisoning it just needed to run its course. Then we both started to feel ill I had a fever and achy muscles I was incredibly fatigue so we all went to bed. My partner didn't feel as bad as we did and my daughter and I are both very sick, So what do we do? We call the store and ask to speak to a manager. The manager isn't in, my fiance explains that we all had gotten food poisoning and requested a refund. The person over the phone proceeded to tell us we are not allowed a refund unless we all provide doctors notes. Naturally I am furious. Being as I do work in food service (food that some might consider fast food no less) myself this is completely unheard of for me, because I am told to believe the customer and give them what they want. I wont ever be eating here ever again, I am sorry. I don't recommend it to anyone not after this.

The food is so delicious and so cool to watch it made in front of you. I love Genghis Grill so much that I work there now. It's an awesome place to eat and a good place to work. Update well I lasted about 2 weeks here. I did clean the place while I was there. I saw cleaners all different kinds of cleaners on the Shelf but I don't think I ever saw anyone correct one of the bottles open. Other than me, I don't think I saw anyone actually clean anything without doing a half-ass job. I did all this before realizing that management is all a bunch of oversexed under-educated children. Mid-level management at this place and I quote "I don't clean I don't know how to clean I don't have to clean" I quit when the very same staff leader told me I was too fat to work in the front of store. I also didn't appreciate the management sleeping with the staff. I'm not sure how they want to look back on their life but I know that if I have to use my vagina as an elevator to climb the ladder in a business I don't want to be involved in that business.

One of the spots I make whenever I go back West. Been hooked on Genghis Grill since day one. Service was great and the employees very professional. Definitely recommend this to anyone in the Tempe Marketplace area. I especially like the fact that I can control the amount of food and spices used to cook the meal.

Not a bad place at all. The environment and decor is awesome, the servers are friendly. My only gripe is that they don't have as big of a selection as before and they're always trying to promote burgers.i thought this was a stir fry place.

Love the food. Feels like a meal was designed and whipped up, just special for me. Cleanliness was off a bit. Service was a little slow. I would recommend it.

I used to go to the one in Tucson a lot before it closed down, so I have been wanting to go back for a while. This Genghis Grill was definitely as good as I remember. There is a wide selection of meats, veggies and sauces to add to your bowl that you can craft in the combination that most pleases you! My friend actually ordered a burger off the menu, and that was also just as good. We also ordered dessert (cookie butter wontons), which was just as good, if not better than dessert we could get next door at Coldstone. I ordered a regular bowl for $13 and while some may consider that pricey, it easily provided enough for 3 meals, making the portion to price value really good. Overall, I highly recommend for the high customability available, along with the very good serving sizes

This restaurant is located in the Tempe Marketplace. After you're seated and have the basics explained by a server, you take your card to the food line and make your selections of which there are many. I was impressed with the variety of meats prepared in different styles. There are three sizes of bowl to choose from, and plenty of meats and veggies to fill it. Also there are various seasonings and oils. Depending on the size bowl you'll get one to three sides of rice or noodles or what not. These actually come in your bowl when it is delivered to your table. Overall, it is kind of a strange way to order the food, but it was quite tasty, and I will return. My only issue is the cost which was kind of on the high side. Expect to pay no less that $15 for a meal.

If you're looking for a date night, dinner with friends or just a quick bite to eat this place is it. The atmosphere and staff are amazing and helpful! Mike behind the bar is awesome!

The idea of building your own stir fry is a cool and fun concept. I like the experience of picking your own things and handing it to the chef. There are lots of options too. Service was great as well, both from the servers and the chefs. No complaints there. However, what left bad impression on me was that some of the veggies to select for the stir fry were frozen! Not everything, just some items. I actually chose a couple of the frozen items and after my bowl had been cooked and brought to my table, guess what.the veggies were still cold while everything else was hot! I had to send it back to be cooked again. Keep in mind your paying around $13 for a bowl here. That's a lot to pay for food that was once frozen. I lost some trust in the quality of everything else that is served.

Always fresh veggies cut daily (carrots, bean sprouts, onions, snap peas, the choice is endless), protiens( several choices of beef, pork, chicken and seafood all seasoned, marinated in different Asian blends and plain), they also offer a variety of different Asian spices and seasoning, sauces, toppings and you fill the bowl of your choice and price range on your own as much as you can fit. There are people there to guide you through if you have questions about anything, and they are more than happy to help. After you like it up, you then pass it to one of the cooks which is where they let you choose your starch and they cook it up on a huge round grill in the middle of the kitchen as you watch. A very entertaining site to see. Then off to your table where you are taken care of by an actual server and a full service restaurant and bar. It's great and pleasant atmosphere.
