The hotel is clean and the employees were nice. It's conveniently located near the 7 train (8 minute walk or so). The bathroom did seem like it needed to be redone in terms of the faucets. If you want hot water it means turning the water pressure all the way up which is inconvenient. Besides that I thought it was great though and I would be willing to stay here again in the future.
Close to public transportation. Clean. Friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Food is good. Good place to stay if you plan on visiting Queens and Manhattan.
Great location, close to the 7, N, and R trains, quick way into the city. Great staff, super helpful and accommodating. We had an infant and a toddler and needed a mini fridge for our room and they made it happen within an hour of us checking in.
Affordable hotel in NYC that's a step away from subways. The rooms are clean and the staff is incredibly nice. Some rooms have incredible views. One of my stays had an upgraded room with a balcony and you can see the view below. It's simply amazing.
The hotel is also a few streets away from the bridge which means less noise from subways and traffic. Perfect if you are a light sleeper. Honestly if you are on a budget this is a great choice.
Nicky in the bar (husky Italian guy) (Michael's I think was the name of the bar) was awesome! Whatever you're paying him isn't enough! Genuine smile, gregarious, affable, great personality! He made the stay worthwhile. Great job Nick! Keep up the great work.
Very professional staff worked hard to get my crew of four into our rooms hours before scheduled check-in times. Hotel is located with about a 10 minute walk from the subway line giving about a 45 minute ride to Time Square. The view from the rooftop bar and lounge is astounding especially at night.
Furniture kind of dirty, close to subway though if you want to ride into Manhattan. Not a bad price either. A few restaurants around if you want to grab a bite early or late. TV was kind of crappy, I got in and hoped to unwind but they didn't have hardly any channels. Exercise room pretty small but usable. Overall not bad, not great, but you're in New York!
Very reasonable price for this hotel. The room was spotless and some rooms have a great view. We had 8 people in our group in 4 separate rooms. Obviously some rooms had a better view than other rooms but all of us were very satisfied. Everyone said they had a good night sleep. The bed and pillows were exceptional, Very comfortable. Personally I liked the fact that the hotel was very quiet. You could hear a pin drop and I love that aspect of my stay as the hallway was very quiet.. Emily at the front desk was very helpful along with Jean the group sales Manager. The parking garage is tiny but there were enough spots for the 2 vehicles in our group. I'd guess there's about 10 parking spots in the garage. One more thing, we ate at the restaurant at the hotel. I had the Salmon and honestly, it was as good as any that I have ever had. Others in my group were quite pleased with their lunch.Breakfast was good but the entrees at the restaurant were fantastic especially considering it was a hotel restaurant. The neighborhood was somewhat industrial but we felt safe. All of us enjoyed our stay very much. Arrive early to get a parking spot if you drive and visit the restaurant for lunch while you wait for your room. I hope to visit again in the future.
Upon check in I was informed I was receiving an upgraded room with a view. I checked into room 202 and the view is a brick building. (It was simply a let down given the expectation) The rooms are quite small but serve the purpose of having a place to sleep. Our room had a light out in the bathroom and the bedroom and the prefilled soap/shampoo dispensers had 2 of the 3 containers empty. The sink in the bathroom was very slow to drain and we simply were unimpressed. This stay served a basic need. We did enjoy a few drinks on the rooftop bar. For end of July this was actually a cooler week so they were thoughtful to turn on the heaters. Nice view of the city from this rooftop bar.
Rooms were a little small and our AC couldn't keep up because of the high heat while we were there. No swimming pool was a disappointment since I was traveling with two 13 year old girls. Staff was great and very accommodating, no issues at all with the staff. Close to the subway with easy access to the city. Overall was a pretty good stay.
Adequate room for a business trip. Nice to have restaurant open late and the rooftop had a good view. Friendly staff, easy check in.
Well if a hotel is going to have parking then make sure it has space to park. The car park is full of rubbish which is occupying valuable space. when mentioned to management their answer was we should have told them we had a truck, which isn't our fault but the fault of Avis as they had no portable GPS only what was in the vehicle. My other beef is giving free breakfast with a foot note about gratuity not included but we should tip our server. Tipping shouldn't be mandatory or leaving the client feeling guilty about not tipping. Tipping is truly a real ugly side to America. Considering most of the time the service is mediocre at best.
Had a cheeseburger and salad. The burger was awesome. Juicy, cooked right. Server was prompt and attentive. Oh, and the tiramisu was sweet, creamy and delicious. Would recommend.
It is a very nice hotel, which offers an amazing view of the New York skyline. The price is more than affordable for the area and the staff is friendly. I gave it 4 stars because at checkout, I had to spend 20 minutes at the reception to understand some extra charges.
In the past, I had enjoyed staying at this hotel, in spite of the difficulty in finding a parking space within reasonable walking distance of the hotel (yes, there is a garage underneath the hotel, but parking is tight and requires quite a bit of maneuvering to get into and out of a space; and once the eight or nine spaces are full, you're out of luck). What really was the last straw for me was the breakfast. Since every other hotel I had stayed at starts breakfast at either 6 or 6:30 am, I went to the restaurant at 6:35, and it was dark. No one was at the front desk either; it was as if the entire first floor of the restaurant was deserted. Went back up to my room and called the front desk (at least it said "front desk" on the phone) a few minutes later, and was told that breakfast starts at 7 am. Went downstairs again at 7:10 and the restaurant was still dark. There was someone behind the counter, watching me walk through the dark restaurant, and did not acknowledge me until I asked him when he would open the restaurant. "I need another 15 minutes," was his response. I walked outside and passed the front desk, and noticed that the front desk person had apparently just arrived, and she apologized for the delay when I complained. I'm wondering what would have happened if I had needed assistance at the front desk before 7 am? Definitely not going to stay at a hotel where the front desk and the restaurant open for business at their own convenience, rather than the convenience of the guests. I finally left without eating, since I had an early appointment in Manhattan. Huge disappointment!
