The food was decent, overpriced for what it was but I enjoyed my meal. Our waitress was very slow to get our orders and was scarcely seen the rest of the night. When she was there she was rude and treated us as a nuisance rather than customers. I will say that the other wait staff seemed attentive and polite, we just weren't lucky enough to get one of their sections. Overall it wasn't terrible but left a bit to be desired
The service was fast and friendly. The hot ham and cheese was excellent as was the hot artichoke dip. I loved the decor. The menu has many options to choose from such as appetizers, salads, pizza and sandwiches. Foggy's has a large selection of domestic beers and some local Michigan brewery options too
We were told to go here for the parmesan baked whitefish, so that's what we both had. It was amazing. The soups were really good too. The garden salad leaves a little to be desired, as does the baked potato. Hubby didn't get butter and the air cream is in a packet, but my rice was really good. The fish and service more than made up for the salad. So yummy.
We visited on Tuesday night around 6 pm, and it was just starting to get busy. Service was great and the food was even better. I ordered the fish basket which is offered with either perch, whitefish or trout. I asked for mine to include a little of each and they happily accommodated. So, so good! My husband had fish tacos and tried their soup of the day - dill pickle. He liked it a lot so they get points for creativity too.
Last year we walked out because after 20 minutes, no one came to take even our drink order or give us menus. So this time around we figured we would give it another try. Tonight, we waited 45 minutes for someone to take our order (at least we got menus in the first 15 minutes) The bartender Nick needs a raise. Saturday night in the summer and this restaurant has one bartender for the whole restaurant AND HE HAS TO WAIT ON THE TABLES IN THE BAR AREA? The irony is that I see at least 5+ female servers in the main dining area not even breaking a sweat. I overheard the bartender asking one of the waitresses to help him. She charged him $20 for some good ole teamwork. Note to the owner and management this is labor abuse. Hire more staff and teach your servers the concept of teamwork.
Horrible service. A group walked out and left after waiting an hour for their food. I can't blame them, since we did as well! We decided to stay because we were hungry. A few in our group had poor service in the past. Unpleasant servers and hostess.
We had to track down the waitress to get refills, and she asked if she could refill us when we got our meals.
Um. No.
My steak was mainly fat.
That was our final visit there.
Great whitefish, good atmosphere and service was fantastic. They make you feel at home. Looking forward to making this a stop on future snowmobile trips.
I wouldn't even rate it if I could. Awful experience. Ordered an appetizer and didn't get it until AFTER our dinner came which was 45 minutes after we ordered it. He claimed it was "busy" and "this isn't fast food" even though he was seen outside smoking and conversing with others. Fish was mediocre at best. Want to see "busy" come to Ann Arbor. My advice, go somewhere else. This place sucks!
Great place, cook your own steak is an awesome idea with delicious cuts of meat. Brian the server busted his ass for us while working all the other tables in the dining area. We will definately be returning!
Terrific meal in a very comfortable, neighborhood bar and grill setting. Highly recommend the Saturday prime rib special with wild rice. Hubby had the bourbon sirloin and lasagna combo which he loved too. Not fancy, but service and food were tremendous. Worth the stop while in the UP. Our server, Brian was attentive and handled a rowdy crowd well.
