Friendly, helpful staff. Busy place in the off season when we visited. Parked in overflow parking, it was a pull through, it still had a nice view. Easy to hear the traffic passing on the road. I would return with a reservation for a lake front lot.
The night is usually really cold. The lake is beautiful. Showers are not on my list for nice. But overall it's great. I like this place because the camp staff saved us an extra sight because sight 62 had water on it. So we took 15. But the next morning on Sunday we looked at 62 and it was folded with water and some other ones. We are glad we took 15
Just camped here for one night over this past weekend. We had a rustic tent site and it was huge and right on the lake. Beautiful view of the sunset. The only complaint would be that the bathrooms on our side could have been a lot cleaner. Other than that I'd definitely recommend and stay here again.
Great location on the lake. We had a spot that backed onto the highway and didn't find it too noisy. If we were in a tent then we probably would've though.
Camp office has some necessities. Firewood was $7 but seemed to have been freshly cut. Sounds like I was cooking a steak with all of the sizzling.
The day we left it was raining and our site was close to flooding out. That wasn't great but managed to get in the ark in time.
Overall very nice campground especially for the money.
Overall good experience. Fairly basic full service campground with a great location right on the lake and just outside town. It is however also right on the main road and thus there is a fair amount of road noise. Most sites have minimal shade and some are really too small or rocky for a tent. Site 87 is pretty good for a tent however! Very small playground for the kids. Bathrooms adequately clean but basic and only 2 shower stalls per gender, but there are full septic hookups for RVs so 2 seems enough. Small shop sells ice and wood and a small amount of supplies. Big fire rings. Would do again, but I don't know what else is available in the area.
Beautiful tent sights in the back shaded next to the beach. Perfect place to see sunrise and sunset. Clean bathrooms pay showers good price walking distance to town. Large rv and camper sights also. Large campground. Big beach. Not many campgrounds this far up with bathrooms and showers on the lake.
Great price for campsite, free showers and clean bathrooms. Great view of the bay and Grand Island. The only thing that the campground could do to make it a little better is to level out the sites that take on a lot of water.
Munising Tourist Park Campground was very nice and unique in its setting right on Lake Superior. The beach was a delight to walk, with its driftwood and nice sand. Showers were excellent and the entire campground was clean and had all amenities necessary. Thanks for a lovely stay!
DOG OWNERS BEWARE! Nice park but very lax about rules. Another camper's dog (which was un-leashed) attacked our dog as we were walking him leashed. When we reported it to the manager he was completely unconcerned. The lack of concern is the primary reason we will never be back.
The park was clean and the lake beautiful, however after we checked in and got on the lot we reserved ,the following day as we watched the lake sites open up we asked if we could move to one of them. We were told they were all going to be occupied for the night which we totally understood but neither of the 2 I requested filled up. I ran a campground for years and understand no/ shows but not 2 prime spots ,I question that. We did get to sit on one of the vacated lots to watch the gorgeous sunset but would have been nice for the kids to be "on the lake"
