With Mother's Day coming up tomorrow I made sure to place my order early, so I placed it almost a week ahead of time. I looked through numerous different websites (both local and ProFlowers, 1800Flowers, etc). I found a reasonably priced arrangement from Flowers by Josie and the delivery charge was reasonable too. I live out of state but figured I would buy local. I was sorely mistaken. The arrangement was delivered in excellent time but it was all downhill from there. The arrangement that was delivered was not what I had ordered. When I called the shop I talked to a young girl named Darcy who was less than helpful. She advised me that since that arrangement was through Teleflora there was no guarantee that they had it in stock and that they took the liberty of choosing another arrangement. I expressed that this was bad form and that a phone call would have been appreciated. She stated that is not what they do. So I asked her where on the website I gave authorization for them to pick a different arrangement (after she told me that I had chose that). After the third time of asking her she finally told me that she didn't think it was on the website but it was in their system. My mother was very disappointed in the flowers so she took them back to the store and requested that they give me a refund. Ultimately the shop copped to "human error" and they re-made the flowers in the original arrangement that I ordered (somehow they mysteriously found the flowers to do it.). I will NEVER again use this business. I understand that it's busy due to Mother's Day but I did not wait until the last minute to order my flowers, I did it in plenty enough time that if there was a problem they should have let me know. And then to actually have the flowers to do it only when someone goes in and complains in personI'm not sure if they were hoping no one would say anything, they were wrong.

I love the actual shop - they did my wedding arrangements which were absolutely gorgeous. When I ordered flowers online today for my mother-in-laws birthday I was charged twice. When I called I reached an answering service/customer service of sorts and was told that it happens all the time if the line is busy when they try to make the initial charge and that I will only be charged once. The woman I spoke to was both not helpful and rude. She interrupted me every other word when I was trying to explain that I could not afford to have my available balance effected by a double charge and basically told me to get over it or cancel my order. I am surprised at the horrible phone call and will most likely never bother to order online here again which means I will not order from flowers by josie again as we live 3 hours away now. The in store service is fantastic - don't get me wrong and I prefer to support local businesses, whether they be mine or located elsewhere but this is a shining example of why paying the extra delivery fee for 1-800-Flowers or some other big-box establishment might be worth it.
