This is a value motel. As such, the expectations aren't high. However, the management and staff are attentive and courteous.

Flamingo Suites is a modest type of hotel. The important concept to keep in mind is this: CLEAN. QUIET, AND RESONABLELY PRICED. Love t h e landscaping, pool, and the apartment type of suite. I would purchase stock in this place. Eat your heart Best Western

This place need to be shut down, Bed Bugs, roaches, mold and leaks everywhere. They had the nerve to accused us of bringing bed bugs to this dump, other people here have bed bugs too. Never live here no matter how cheap it is !!!!!
Management need to be replaced and they should loss their section 8 vouchers!these 3 to 5 stars reviews must be another Flamingo Suites, the owner's son or they were paid to lie, shame on you !

Let me begin by saying that I have not personally spent an evening in this place. However, I have lived in the adjoining neighborhood for well over 15 years and have some insight for anyone considering a stay.
In all honesty, I've disliked this place for years. Passing by it everyday made me constantly wonder how much it was bringing down my property value and how it managed to stay in business next to the cozy and well cared for Best Western just across the way. Every so often (too often) you'll see a sheriff's car or 2 parked outside, no lights flashing through, so I can only assume they're doing a check up on someone who requires monitoring.
My opinion was solidified a few years ago when an Uncle and his coworker had to say there while working on a construction project in Oro Valley. Within the first week they asked to change rooms due to an unpleasant lingering odor. They commented that the 2ND room was a slight improvement, although while visiting them I noticed that it was incredibly stuffy, very outdated and hardly inviting. The kitchenette was ridiculous, like a fire hazard waiting to happen, crammed with appliances too small for a room that could potentially occupy 4 people.
Needless to say, during their 2+ month stay, they spent many nights paying out of pocket for a room at the Best Western.
The flamingo has only a few types of clientele: 1.) The poor hard working individual who travels for work and who's company repays them by finding the cheapest hole in the wall to put them up in. 2.) The individual who refuses to get an apartment, instead preferring the company of the revolving door of undesirables that blow through. 3.) The bewildered traveler who wonders why the hell they spent money on this place.
Don't be fooled by the few and very random stellar reviews of this place. If you're on the fence, at least ask to see the room before you swipe your card, because the owners live states away and your complaints will fall on deaf ears.
Take it from someone who's forced to pass by this monstrosity daily. Knowing what I know, I would sooner us sleep in my truck than let my kids spend a night here at any age. There are too many other nice and affordable places to stay off of Oracle, don't waste your hard earned money or tarnish your vacation memories here.

They say read the reviews for a reason!

First room they put me in (#116) had roaches (pregnant ones) and the AC wasn't working. I had to move my things in the middle of the night to the opposite side of he property (#103). Found out the next morning that this room wasn't a "weekly" and because there was some so called miscommunication with me having my two sons (even though they watched us all move in the first room), we had to move to an upstairs room (#223) and the price was more than originally discussed. They claim the rooms are non smoking but apparently allowed the previous renter to stay for two weeks before they were kicked out for smoking in the room. So when I got in there it reeked of smoke. Smoke smell began to absorb in my clothes. After I expressed my concerns, the curtains were cleaned, linens changed and carpet cleaned. Just when the smell had seized and I had one day left, I seen a bedbug running across my blanket. I immediately brought it to Sue's attention and she said she'll take care of it in the morning since I was checking out. Really? Now I have to wash all my clothes and personal belongings I brought to make sure I don't bring them to the next place I go. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT RENT HERE! WASTE OF YOUR MONEY!

The management and staff besides the cleaning women were not very helpful. They didn't seem to care about our comfort our satisfaction with their facilities.

This is a cheap motel suited more toward guests who already live in town. Broken down cars in the lot, front desk actually closes at night, that kind of thing. It looks like an old apartment complex that was converted. I would not bring a family here unless I absolutely had no choice, and then I would probably stay up guarding them and my property.
