My wife and I visited for the weekend and had a great time. Breakfasts were awesome. The room was great and the site was beautiful. The site is located about 15 minutes from downtown Highlands. The owners and staff are among the most wonderful people you will ever meet. The inn, rooms, restaurant were impeccably kept. I regret that we could not stay longer. This is really a unique place and worthy of a try if you want to visit the area and avoid the typical hotel experience.

They nailed it The cabin was perfect and the setting is gorgeous. Whitney was very helpful and provided activity ideas for on and off site. The spa was also wonderful. I didn't try the restaurant, but if it matches the standards of everything else, I wouldn't hesitate

Amazing experience! My husband and I were here a total of three nights for our honeymoon and stayed in Red Thunder - which is definitely the room to stay in! What views! The sunset was one of the most incredible I have ever seen. The breakfast is simple, savory, and heavenly. The second two nights of our stay were during tropical storm Irma, and it was during this that you could really tell how fabulous the owners and staff are. They ran out and got is pizza and coca cola for lunch because they knew we didn't want to drive with all the trees down - this was above and beyond. We we're extremely comfortable and well taken care of despite the power loss. Upon our departure they gave me a bag of tomatoes because I had been a big fan of the ones they served with breakfast. There are always beautiful hotels to stay in, but the staff and owners are what really set fire mountain apart from the pack.

We can't speak highly enough about our four nights at Fire Mountain Inn. The setting on the edge of the Highlands plateau was lovely, and our western patio (we also had an eastern one) provided us with a stunning view of the sunset each night over the western mountains. It was a perfect end to a day hiking in the area. The morning was just as pleasant. Welcomed by delicate clouds lying in the valleys below us each morning, we were also greeted with a sumptuously presented gourmet breakfast served by our hosts, Hiram and Matthew, and their friendly staff. Hiram and Matthew added to the treat by directing us to some lesser known trails and back roads that made our stay even more special. Our room (the airy Satohla room) was comfortable, spacious, complete with a rustic and functioning fireplace, porch hammock and roomy bathroom suite. Each night we slept quietly with a comfortable mountain breeze sweeping across our bed. We highly recommend their inn to anyone visiting the area. We'd gladly return on any future visit.

Delightful get-away in the mountains!
We can’t stop talking about our wonderful stay at Fire Mountain Inn. The owners, Hiram and Mathew, have not only created a stunning space in a beautiful setting, but also a perfect experience for their guests. Our lodge room was pristine and very comfortable. We enjoyed the outside patio and loved the breeze through the screen doors. The lodge dinning area, with bar and seating area open on all sides to the views, was stunning and we enjoyed the artwork and carefully curated furniture and artifacts. The meals Mathew created from fresh seasonal ingredients were both delicious and a feast for the eyes. Hiram and Mathew were more than gracious hosts, going out of their way to make out experience at Fire Mountain and in the Highlands area very special. A highlight of our trip was watching the sunset from the deck by the endless pool with its gas flames – unique to Fire Mountain! If you’re interested enough in Fire Mountain Inn that you’re reading reviews, my advice is to book a few nights there right now. My wife and I just returned from two absolutely perfect nights there, and we can’t stop raving about our experience. The views are stunning and ever-changing, the service is impeccable, and the peace and serenity are rejuvenating. Hiram and Matthew are warm and attentive hosts, striking the perfect balance between giving us space and doting on us. We took advantage of their extensive knowledge of the area to plan two perfect days’ worth of outings that included hiking, great food, art and plenty of waterfalls. I strongly recommend that you have dinner at Fire and Water on your first night there. We did so, and not only was the food perfect, but we also loved getting to meet Hiram and Matthew and truly feel like we were part of the whole place. We enjoyed cocktails on the deck with stunning sunset views and it was fun meeting other guests. Another real treat here is the breakfast. It’s perfectly prepared and presented, simple and delicious, and it’s a wonderful way to start your day and plan for the adventures ahead.
We felt spoiled the entire time we were there, and we’re totally confident that you will too. On our last morning at the inn, we mentioned to Hiram that our plans weren’t quite settled for the day, and Hiram immediately said “please let us know what we can do to support you.” This is, I think, such a perfect quote to sum up our truly wonderful visit. My husband and I spent 5 nights at Fire Mountain! The views were amazing! It was so peaceful, and relaxing. We loved leaving our screen doors open to the cool breeze in the middle of June! I loved reading in the hammock on the porch. The breakfast and dinner were amazing! The ingredients were super fresh ! We enjoyed eating while enjoying the view of the mountains, and birds. We went on some hikes and walks right on the property and Matthew gave us some wonderful waterfalls to hike to around town. We look forward to our next visit!

Stayed for a couple nights this week and the weather was so much cooler than Atlanta, wonderful to sleep with the windows open!
Beautiful views and accommodations were comfy and super clean! Feel like you are a million miles away and only a 2 hour drive from N Atl.
Had dinner one night at the new restaurant, great food and sunset!
Will be back again!

With a wedding coming just around the corner I was hoping to find a romantic place to stay at yet was greeted by unwelcomeing invidual which did not even bother to tell us his name or offer any information on the establishment. Apparently do not say you are attendi g a wedding because you will be turned away. With so many other welcoming inn, hotels and cabins I could not possibly imagine anyone wanting to consider staying here.

We were really looking forward to staying until Hiram got involved. His animosity was extremely off-putting and all over the simple question of late check-in? His word for word response after I had emailed him in advance and had to get my work schedule changed to convenience him was "if you want to continue playing games with your arrival that is fine but we are not going to spend anymore time on this today" via email and then when I called him to let him know (only 2nd time contacting him very briefly) he told me they do not accept my kind at their inn? That I had inconvenienced them by asking such a simple question? And I need to have Expedia chance the reservation in the next hour or they will keep my money AND not let me stay there? Excuse me? Has he ever had a normal job in his life to make it to the mountains after a workday in Atlanta by 7:00pm? I have never been so rudely dismissed in my life. I did everything on my end to try and make this work and I am glad it did not. He didn't have the mental capacity to have any respect for his customer or come up with another option for check-in? I have told all of my friends about this experience and will be posting everywhere. Just awful.
